Mucous plug at 8 weeks TheLittleMrs *40 Weeks* Due November 23; 17 kids; Honolulu, Hawaii 234 posts

Question... I know it's very early for this but I wondering if anyone had experienced losing their mucous plug this early???? It was different than normal discharge. Maybe a little yellowish very light yellow and clear and felt like a big ball of snot. I'm a little concerned, call the triage nurse and am waiting for a call back... Any advice? Experiences? Also no crampIng or pink/ brown or red in it.

It might just be regular discharge sweetie :) Mine's been all kinds of weird colours.I don't think you would have lost it.

You experience a lot of excessive and increased discharge during pregnancy so I would think it would be that rather than your actual mucous plug.

Yeah it just seemed much thicker than usual... It was just weird. I guess I'm still not out of the woods and based on my pregnancy history I freak a little.. :/ I wish I knew what it was like to never consider miscarriage..

I lost part of mine once,of course,it regenerated. It was dark brown and green and like a gigantic icky slime ball.Definitely wasn't too pleased. But that was at 24 weeks, and then it regenerated.

I know how you feel.I was so scared I'd lose my baby girl,as I lost my first. It's okay to freak out a little :) That's what BG is for

if it was legitimately your plug.. that's concerning. Unfortuantely.. there's really nothing they can or woudl do at 8 weeks.

high possibility of other stranger pregnancy discharge that occurs

lost mine in pieces since i was 8 weeks preg, will be 36 weeks this friday coming and still losing peices.. it regenerates and my dr told me (i had a miscarriage at 18 weeks btw in 2010) that it was normal as long as it wasn't pink or red.. could just be your body getting rid of excess mucus =) dont fret too much

I had that yellowy chunky discharge too at one point, then that next week I had my doc appt and everything was perfectly ok. I agree with the other ladies: it's probably just the vaginal weirdness during pregnancy =]

Thanks ladies!! I am trying to stay positive :) you are probably right and I'm just going to try not to worry and ask about it in 2 weeks at my next appt
