Oh and flight + 4 nights at a mediocre but recently renovated all inclusive = $1,500 for both of us. Having this chemical sucks bawls but at least I'll get to have bloody marys and salty margaritas all day!

So my IVF nurse didn't call me but the clinic did. My beta was 47 which although not good (they like to see something over 50) , is actually a lot better than I was expecting. Of course it's all in the doubling so I'll know more on Monday.

I've been waiting for you to post about this. 47 isn't that bad, I still have hope for you! :P The waiting game sure does suck. I am waiting for my first beta on Tuesday to confirm if the transfer stuck or not. I know i COULD take an hpt but i just can't face it...what if it's negative? Then i'll be so upset i wont even want to go for beta testing....and if it's positive i'll get excited possibly to have my hopes let down on Tuesday. UGH....hope this weekend goes fast!!

Haha I do not have that kind of willpower. And yes, this weekend needs to seriously FLY. Can't wait to hear your results Tuesday. Did you end up transferring one or two?

We decided to only go with one as the lab thought we would have a high success rate with that. I'm starting to wonder if we made the wrong choice, but we will just have to wait and see.

Don't think like that. It really is better this way. There are lots of reasons for an embryo to not implant. Sometimes the lining just isn't right and it's more difficult to get all the stars to align perfectly when you do a fresh IVF cycle because of the extra hormones from the stims and there's no leeway as far as when to transfer. So if you transferred two and your lining was off, you might lose both of them instead of just the one. Or if you transferred both and the lining was just right you'd have a better than 50/50 chance of conceiving twins. Like I said before, transferring more than one doesn't increase the odds for pregnancy very much, just for multiples.

If for some reason this one doesn't take (but odds are it will), you still have at least one more healthy blast to try again with. How many blasts did you end up with total? I can't remember if you said how many.

Thanks for the kind words. Today is a bad day emotionally for me, i just have this aweful feeling that it didn't stick. We had a total of 4 blasts, 3 have been frozen for future use. Honestly, i just feel like the last few days my breasts have been so sore and tender, but now today thats gone away. This is EXACTLY what happened with my last tubal pregnancy so it's very scary for me.

I'm headed to my mum's house for dinner where i'll get to see my neice! She's the sweetest little thing, two months old!!! My sister and brother in law have a wedding to go to tonight so grandma gets to babysit overnight!! We take full advantage of any visits because my sister lives out of town. At least ive got something to look forward to!

IVF is such an awful emotional rollercoaster. So much attrition from egg to embryo, so much doubt and worry. Just know what you're feeling right now is so totally completely normal. Don't worry about the bewbies. Progesterone is what causes sore b**bs in early pregnancy. You might want to ask to get your P4 checked when you have your beta just to put your mind at ease. But it's also perfectly normal for symptoms to come and go.

Awww have fun with your niece. I visited a good friend with 18mth old twins (via IVF) a few months ago and enjoyed them so much! A lot of times fertiles like to assume that it makes infertiles feel bad to be around their children when that couldn't be farther from the truth!

Just a quick question for the ladies that went through IVF with the injectibles or used any kind of medicine, was there any side effects, like becoming sick from them?

I've never had any side effects from injectibles besides progesterone but I think I may be just lucky. Most women do have some side effects but they're different for everyone.

Thanks! I'm just nervous that I'll have a bad side effects, I'm not the luckiest one in that department lol.

The good news is... we are ALMOST already halfway saved for DH's surgery!!!! We were lucky to have family and friends who wanted to donate to us, and my DH's boss said that if we wanted to, we could take his christmas bonus early :) Now I'm hoping to get a good turn out for our yard sale in October.

I know! we still have a ways to go but hopefully we can get it together quickly and schedule his surgery for January... I feel like even if we could do it sooner, it would be too much with the holidays coming up.
