Quoting NurseLindsey:" Amazing science :) I paid super close attention to the reproduction part in anatomy and physiology. Our professor explained that and I was like shut the front door! "

Do you know how successful it is?

So I made my appointment with my RE. 4/19 at 4:45. I have no clue if I work that day but that's as early as she's available. I'm really nervous but I hope we can get started asap with monitoring. We can't start until my cycle starts in May. I hope my body cooperates and we can get pregnant and have an intrauterine pregnancy.

He didn't say. I'm sure there's room for error though. If you think about it, if you're going down to the bottom of a vial with a syringe to suck out that sperm.... you have to go through the other sperm.

Quoting NurseLindsey:" That's re-assuring. I'm taking 9 days off as well. I'm only working one 12 hour shift and then I'm off for another 4 days, then I go back for three 12 hour shifts. Thank you. "

I wouldn't have even gotten to be off that long probably if my shifts had fallen differently. The doc wrote me off for a week, but since I had a standard schedule, it put me off til that Friday. I used to work: Tue, F, S, Sun; off M; work Tue, Wed; then off til Tues. Those 5 out of 6 day shifts were for the birds, but it was nice to have 6 days in a row off every other week. Now my hours are cake though... M, W, Th 8:30-1:30 - 3-6; Tue 3-7; Fri 8:30-1:30. Definitely makes things easier with all this TTC fertility doc crap. I don't know how I could have possibly done it with my old schedule...

Nice hours! :) It definitely would make things easier for doctor's appointments. I keep feeling like I'm going to have to call in sick for IUI lol

Really?! That's interesting. We really want a girl. I might have to discuss this with my RE.

$1300 to spin some sperm?!? Wow that's some quick money they're making! Nevermind... we'll just take our chances.

Thank you :-) I'll just switch my shift if I'm scheduled that day. I had to make this appointment 6 weeks out, I'm sure someone will be kind enough to trade with me. lol
