Quoting Ryans Mommy TTC #2:" Question: for those of you that have been on gonal-f does it make you have side effects similar to clomid? Like a emotional rollercoaster?"

haha! That's funny. That's how I described clomid this morning... emotional roller coaster!

I've tried to explain to my boss that its a side effect from my meds. I' had crying spells because I was on clomid at the time and I haven't had one since then. But she seems to think I'm mentally uncapable to perform my job. When several people have told her Clomid makes you feel bipolar. She doesn't listen. Long rant you can check out my recent post: Working and TTC

I read your post. I'm not sure he can legally fire you. I'd file for FMLA. He can't stop you. If he fires you while you file you can sue him, that's very illegal.
Clomid made me all weird, too. This was only my first month on it (50mg) but I randomly burst into tears a few times. I was able to pull myself together and get on with work.

I was never on Clomid so I can't compare, but the Gonal F definitely gave me side effects... moody, very bloated, skin breakouts, pretty much all of my PMS symptoms intensified.

ETA- I was on the 450IU pens

Why didn't she let you trigger? Did they do blood work showing you were going to O before trigger would work? This last cycle, the one I conceived, I had a 23mm follicle they thought might release and they'd have to trigger an move my IUI up a day. Anyway, blood work showed I wasn't going to. I thought they were monitoring you this cycle? Are they only doing scans?

I'm only getting scans. I had a 22mm follicle on CD 12 (Tuesday). She said it was too big and too late to trigger and that we'd do IUI the next morning. I think we're roughly within our window of opportunity given the time lines. We did IUI at about 0900 on 7/16 (CD 13) and I'm fairly sure I O'd sometime yesterday (CD 15). According to California Cryo frozen sperm will survive up to 72 hours but it loses it's potency after 12-24 hours. So FX!

Good luck! If this cycle doesn't work, I'd ask for a CD 10 scan next cycle. I always had one on CD9 or 10 to see the rate of growth. I've actually had to trigger on CD 9 or 10 before (I was doing injections though).

I was supposed to go in for a CD 10 scan but it happened to fall on the weekends and Kaiser doesn't do U/S on the weekend :-(

I had some follicles that big and they told me to go straight home that morning and do a shot if repronex which keeps you from ovulating to early. Then I did my trigger shot that night. That was bc my LH levels were still rising. They should be doing an estradial and LH bloodwork. You are paying way to much for donor sperm and IuI for them to be messing around with you.

So I've been bad, really bad about taking Metformin. I'll take it for awhile and then get tired of it making me sick so I take a break. Then freak out I'm going to become diabetic and start taking it again and then get sick of it and take an even longer break. But I learned today my a1c is down! 5.4 from 6.0. That's strength training, baby.

If your insurance covers it, get glumetza. I have no side effects at all with it, and on regular met I did even after taking it for 2 years.

I agree. We're at like $2500 so far. I'll ask the nurse about it if she ever calls back... *sigh*

Yeah I have to agree. At this point they better be doing everything in their power to get the timing just right.
