Sure it can! I felt "flutters" at 14 weeks :) They progressively got stronger until real kicks at 20 weeks

You can feel movement at that point

but not in your ribs... your uterus is not close enough for all that yet.

Bwahaha, I didn't even notice it said ribs!

OP- if it's in your ribs, then it's not the baby. Probably indigestion :P

The uterus doesnt even reach your belly button until 20 weeks! LOL! Thats indigestion! Im almost 30 weeks and baby has just now started getting in my ribs occasionally.

The movements you will feel will be very low initially.

:!::!:
You definitely wouldnt be feeling movement up by your ribs but 16 weeks is exactly when i started feeling flutters with this LO...just between my pubic region and half way up to my belly button.

Sure its possible to feel movement at 16 weeks if you are thin or this s not a first baby but nowhere near your ribs Not even possible ! Your baby is the size of a baby rat and your uterus is nowhere near your ribs at this point.

I'm 26 weeks, measuring 27 cm, and my uterus is just now reaching my ribs. Although, I could feel kicks in my ribs at 24 weeks when I was sitting (I slouch horribly). But I am only 5'2" with a short torso. My uterus was just below my belly button at 16 weeks... I don't see it being possible to feel your baby that high, just yet. I would agree that it is probably indigestion.
