breast milk question Durell Kakuk 2 kids; Menominee, Michigan 555 posts

I go back to work in a little over 3weeks so i have started pumping to store my milk. Whenever i have my son at home and also right before he goes to the sitters I will put him on the breast for feedings. However i was wondering how do I know how much breast milk to send with him to the sitters? He is generally a pretty big eater but I also don't want him over eating from the supply since the bottle is faster for him. Any suggestions and advice are appreciated. Thank you

My son is 6.5 months and has been eating 5 ounces of breaskmilk every 3 hours since he was 3.5 months. It really all depends on the baby and how old

he will be 6 weeks when i go back. right now he nurses on average 20 min per side about every 2-3 hr. When i pump in between feeding i get anywhere from 1.5oz-3.75oz.

I would say 3.5 ounces for every 3 hours should be enough.
