Quoting G*Boo **FPC**:" Why would you hIT someone just to irriate and get someones attention"

To be honest for most people they do it out of habit. Honestly I was raised around alot of violence and from that I learned that hitting was an acceptable form of communication. Honestly the fact that I myself have done these thing (all though I have never stooped to the level of hitting someone in the presence of a child let alone while holding them) isnt a fact that I am proud of. The fact remains that this habit is an extremely hard one to break and you actually have to want to stop hitting to be able to do it. SO and I have been together for over 8 years now and it took me a good 5 years to stop doing this and the reason it took so long is because hitting became second nature.

See I agree with you 100% on this one. Like I said when I used to pop SO as a way of communicating with him never once did I do it infront of a child let alone with a child in my arms. Hell I wont even argue with SO infront of children if I can help it. What she did is beyond trashy and it crosses to many lines to count. By doing what she did she not only exposed her child to her violent behavior but she put her in harms way. Not to mention that by behaving in this manor infront of her child all she is doing is insuring the fact that her child will one day grow up to be a violent person as well you know the whole monkey see monkey do thing.

Yes they do tend to do that lol. But Im sure your not modeling violent/dangerous behaviors for your LO to copy off of you.
