Cadence will be 4 months on the 11th. She was eating 4 oz every 4 hrs. Then, she was eating 6 oz for her last bottle. She gets her last bottle between 1130p and 1230a and is in bed by 1 and is up by 8. She ended up drinking 6 oz at 830p, but then only wanted 4 oz at 1230. Could I space her bottles out to 5 hours so that she will drink 6 oz? She is 3 months 2 weeks and 1 month 1 week adjusted.

I let my preemies eat however much they wanted when they wanted. It was frustrating having 2 not really on schedule but I was worried about upsetting their tummies. They eventually started sleeping through the night really well around 6 months once they started solids and their schedule got tons better and more predictable.

The way we always did it was if we knew she could take that much, that is how much we would offer her. She has a tendency to eat better during certain feeding times and we try to make note of that and maybe offer her more, this is how we get her to slowly increase, by always offering a little more than enough.

On a side note, sounds like she is eating very well for you! DD at 10 months/7 adjusted is still only taking in about 5.5-7 oz and only takes 4-5 bottles a day. Her formula is 26/27 calories, but when the Dr wants your LO to gain weight it can be hard if they don't want to eat. Oh and one thing we do is we give her a bath before her last bottle and that makes her want to cuddle and finish a whole bottle calmly. It also helps her sleep for a good stretch.
