We have a pit bull named Romeo and he is the sweetest thing. He is sooo good with kids, my 15 month old climbs all over him and all he does is give her kisses! It makes me so sad when people go off on me for having "such a dangerous dog" around my children but it's what I signed up for when I brought him home! Here are a few pics of my baby and her baby :)

Feel free to post your own pics of your kiddos and pits :) I love seeing those kinds of pictures! :)

Adorable pictures! And beautiful dog. :)

Eh. I don't listen to what people say about them anymore. My dogs have NEVER gone after LO. Where as my grandmother's chihuahua has. Dogs are all individuals and not any specific breed is guaranteed to be aggressive.

Do any of yours have food allergies? Believe it or not when I got him he was almost hairless because the idiot who bred his parents was only feeding the puppies rice and potatoes.

He now has to eat only raw food because of his allergies :( poor baby.

None that I have seen, thank goodness. Both are rescues, though. So I have no idea if anything genetic will pop up at some point down the road. The only eating issue I've had with either was with my Dogo. He had to have two surgeries due to eating too much grass. -.- He stayed true to his name, though. Total Knucklehead. Heh.

Yay for rescues! I've fostered six rescued pits in the past couple years. I hope my daughters do the same when they grow up. I'm really big in to educating people about rescuing aaaaany pit bull type breed... there are sooooo many of them.

Not at all.

I think it's a matter of who is behind the leash. Dogs who were raised to fight and such have been rehabilitated and are now service dogs.

My SO and I had bought a pit from the humane society and she was allergic to wheat. We didn't know this until the hair on her back and tail started falling out.

I grew up bringing animals home all the time. I'm really hoping my kiddos do the same. XD

When I got my first pit, Nala(she's the tan and white one), my dad's side of the family HATED pit bulls. Most still do and consider my dog a freak of nature because she's nice, but my dad likes them now. He used to tell me about the pit bulls he'd see while working and how pretty they were. And he almost adopted a pit(he has a job that would make dog ownership VERY difficult) that we took for a sleepover when we were at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.

Here is our Pit, Pepper :) She is our first baby! Love her to bits. Although I think she may be mixed with something. Not sure.

That's what I had in mind. XD Quite a few of the Vicktory dogs are service or therapy dogs now. And they are SO sweet. I got the chance to meet Georgia(some strings were pulled by friends who work there, since I have her tattooed on my arm) when I was out at Best Friends last summer. It was awesome.
