Quoting Mama Lizzy :]:" <blockquote><b>Quoting ~Manda Panda +3 ~:</b>" It should have taken you to the workhorse ... [snip!] ... a big difference with these compared to regular prefolds? I can only do the trifold with his cuz his butt is too big hehe"

Oh ya. I used both prefolds/fitteds at first and I much rather use these than a prefold. Mostly for bulk and possibly a little for laziness lol

Oh that rocks! I don't have snap pliers or anything.

I don't sew. Well ok I have hand sewn a piece of elastic twice for tutus. Thankfully that workmanship was hidden under tulle. It's kinda scary.

And other fitteds? Thirsties fab fitted for something you can find retail.
WAHM Squishy Butt fitteds. I can go without a cover with those suckers around the house. They are amazing!

Quoting Mother of Broccoli.:" Wash with detergent on hot then dry on hot. Repeat 6-10 times until they are quilted up. "

Quoting NicoThunders:" Alva has their own inserts, I really like their bamboo/microfiber blend inserts. Nice and fluffy and ... [snip!] ... remember if borax or fels naptha are bad. Sabrina should know (since she's so awesome, lol). What ingredients do you use?"

borax is "okay" fels naptha - no no

Quoting 3.24.10 ♥ 9.10.11:" Shoot, I use all of those. Borax, washing soda, baking soda, fels naptha and oxy clean. How do you wash yours?"

washing soda is super caustic.

Quoting Mama Lizzy :]:" Sooo if you want to switch from using prefolds but would like to still use the covers....what would you use?"

are you referring to the pocket shell as a cover? If so, make sure to use the proper term. a cover can be reused but a pocket shell cannot. you can use it to function like a cover, but it is one time use only, and you switch it out every time you'd switch out whatever is being used as a soaker ie., fitted, inserts, etc.

Quoting Mama Lizzy :]:" <blockquote><b>Quoting Mother of Broccoli.:</b>" You can also use your covers like ... [snip!] ... an insert inside. Like Flips. It's pretty trim depending on the insert you use."</blockquote> Like pocket inserts?"

just as long as the microfiber doesn't go up against baby's skin

no, they soak well but are trim since the excess from folding isn't tucked in as well.

<blockquote><b>Quoting Mother of Broccoli.:</b>" I wish I would have gotten the dino square tab Alva. It's so cute. :P"</blockquote>

The white minky with primary color dinos, colored snaps, and double gussets? If so, I have one I could probably part with. I don't like the fit of that style very well. I also have a sky blue with rainbow snaps in that style. Both have been used less than 5 times.

<blockquote><b>Quoting NicoThunders:</b>" I dunno about diapers but when I was still a dry cleaner charcoal bamboo was starting to get reeeeally ... I've always been told in all my sewing years it was natural fiber because rayon is plant based?????
