I know. Adrien was like 4 months then? So, I had only been cloth diapering for 4 months. And we were POOR. It took everything to buy just that and I didn't know about cheaper options, so all of mine were name brand, 20-25 diapers.

I'm stoked I talked to Rachel right off the bat. She pointed me in the right direction.

Nope, the diapers...

And here's what I wrote...

Okay, as I'm sure you've noticed (haha?) my diapers are RED. I DON'T KNOW WHY. Someone please help me figure this out. We just recently changed detergents (Ruby Moon.) My daughter (toddler, all the diapers with this problem are used on her. None of my three month old's diapers have this issue!) has had an ammonia issue for a few months now. I've tried every stripping method, and have yet to be successful. IDK if that's what's going on here.... Wash cycle is like this: cold/warm rinse, sometimes with vinegar, sometimes with baking soda (we've been trying to combat the ammonia, so that's why we're kindof flip flopping), hot wash with usually 3 tbs of Ruby Moon (usually about med-large load of diapers with washer setting on extra large), then at least two hot rinses afterwards... help?!?

This just started since we've used Ruby Moon... we noticed it on one diaper specifically, but then it showed up on ALL the diapers today, and the only thing I did differently is added a Tbs of Ruby Moon because of the ammonia issue, because I figured I needed more detergent since it's a dirt buildup issue.

Lol, I was alone. I didn't even know about BG! That's actually how I found BG, looking for cloth advice. Then it took another 4 or 5 months to find this thread. By then I had already winged most everything alone lol

...could it be how the new detergent reacted to the ammonia? It's only red in the 'wet zone'

That's exactly what I'm thinking... I hope it's reversible. We have two "new covers" with red in them, but they've been washed a few times already.

Try a wash with baking soda and vinegar. It's worth a shot, and if you have ammonia buildup it will help get it out.

No... I can't think of anything. Did the purple come out?
