Quoting Naturally Alternative~27w:" Detergent: I found this recipe I've been meaning to try: http://theecofriendlyfamily.com/2009/08/cloth-diaper-detergent/ I need to invest in some 5gal buckets for detergents and such."

That is the recipe I used, but in an extremely large quantity. I haven't had any issues with it so far, but I do use 2 tbsp instead of 1 (what the site I got it from recommended) because there were stink issues with just one TBSP. We do big loads, though, and have a top loader.

You'd do better joining a co-op & buying pockets for as low as $3.50 a piece. You could get those in one size rather than having to get several sizes. I bought prefolds from cottonbabies.com

MOSES! Do you still have that white sunbaby? If so I want it! Out of all of my dipes the 2 sunbabys & my fleece bmb covers fit DS the best. He has slightly pudgey thighs but is very small in the waist. He's still on the smallest setting for all of his diapers at 5 1/2 months old(at his 4 month checkup he was almost 16lbs & 26 inches tall I think). I measured him a couple weeks ago & he was 27 inches tall then. I love the 2 sunbabys I got from you. Sooooo soft <3

I'm so scared of coops I've heard so many horror stories in here about them. Is there one that you recommend that is trustworthy? I would definitely rather do
pockets

Kickass Crunchy Co-op on facebook is the one I use. If you go to the cloth diaper swap thread you can buy used ones for cheaper too. Also check your local craigslist, you'd be surprised how many people sell them that way.

Oh okay I have the crunchy coop added already, and I have checked Craigslist no one selling anything cheap enough, and I forgot about the cloth diaper thread. I have been doing some research for a while I just haven't really had the money to buy until now plus my ex didn't wanna do cloth....

The Eco's is $13 for a giant 100something load bottle at Sam's. For diapers I'd get probably 150 loads. But, I use cloth safe detergent on everything. It's the only detergent allowed in my machine, even though I am not currently cloth diapering  I use a mix of Trader Joe's, Eco's and the Sun F&C. And Country Save when I can find it locally.

When do you need diapers? If you want to wait, I am going to be going through two giant boxes I have. I am selling them to just recoup my money, not make anything off of them.

I always sprayed my diapers before wash. And I always used a half cup of vinegar in the rinse :)
