You don't have to soak them, no. and I guess you could use the diaper genie, but a trash can works just as well.

what would a full wash for flats be like? One full cycle, and maybe an extra rinse?

You're gonna want an open container otherwise its gonna smell awful. And does your mom realize disposible inserts are gonna be harder? If she uses cloth inserts and cloth wipes she doesn't have to touch anything. Just close it like a disposible and throw it in a bag and you can do all the work pulling it apart later.

If you needed more absorbency you could always use it as a doubler Inside an origami folded blanket. But the little ones will be perfect for the baby :)

And I'd look for some used covers. At least for now until you have more $.

i really want to use them this time but have no idea about them

the only ones we have here , that i have found , are the old fashion ones that you have to use saftey pins with , but i really would like the ones that have buttons so they grow with the child

can anyone make any suggestions as to what ones are good and what is the best site to get them from

im from australia so i understand i may have to pay abit for the postage

There are diaper shops in Australia :) There are also a few WAHM's. Ecstasy may be able to chime in with some links :)

Hey mama, im also an auzzie who uses cloth.

Baby beehinds are having a 50-60% off sale at the moment! you can put stuff on layby (i have)

Also, i found alvababy colour snap 4.0 nappies to be great, soooo cheap & free shipping. (double gussets, 4 adjustable size settings, snap in booster that agitates itself out in the wash etc.. bOTS by gabrielswardrobe are also really good, but a little more expensive. (still cheaper then most though)

Whats your budget & nappy style preference? Pocket, A12, fitted etc?

I'll get links for you in a sec.
