Faith: No, I don't sell diapers yet. I considered it but I didn't like the pattern I was using. I'm still kinda nervous about doing something that complicated too. I'll make them for myself but I would hate to make them for someone else and have them leak or something. I mean, I sell pads but they are pretty full proof. I hope to add diapers some day but probably not until this baby is older.

Love: I'm going to start selling them as soon as I practice a bit more. I did a whole pile last night and they turned out great. Wanna make sure I can keep that high standard up. I still have more of that fabric. :)

LOL I don't really leak either, at least I didn't with DD1 after the initial "get used to things" phase. But hell yeah they are so awesome, surely better than disposables. I can't wait to use them.

Susan: Not sure. I only have experience with the flat disposables. I'm making a few with darts (that's the part that makes it contoured) so I'm hoping that'll help. Just gotta perfect the dart. Some of the ones I did are rather pointy... I don't want pointy b**bs haha.

So cute! I need to look into hybrid fitteds more. I think I may want to try to make some for the baby for the NB stage but I have noooo experience with them. Off to research later!

I posted on facebook that I need to learn to sew and I was going to start stalking craigslist for a machine... Lol. 20 minutes later I got a message asking if I wanted a sewing machine. It's old but works perfectly fine. Yep! Scored a machine. lol. That's how I got my bread machine to. ;) Maybe if I post that I want a million dollars someone will just give me it.

For the win! As long as it works who cares how old it is or how simple. Mine's super basic but it does everything I want it to. :)

I am trying to make my own diapers because I want to save money. And I really don't want to spend $20+ a diaper when i can make them for a fraction of the cost. But I was wondering If anyone had a good pattern? I pretty much just winged the last one I made because the pattern was WAY big lol. Also I want to make a diper that is both water proof and I can just change the soaker in it. IDK what that is called lol. So can you ladies help me out?

Try the Babyville ones at Joann's. They have instructions for tons of different styles and really good photos of the construction process.

We don't have a Joann's any where around here. Are they available online?

http://www.babyvilleboutique.com/
It's a book. You can order it on Amazon. I heard some Walmarts have a diaper making section if yours still has a craft section left.

This is a free pattern that I like. It gives tons of directions with pictures for different types of diapers: https://docs.google.com/gview?a=v&pid=explorer&api=true&srcid=0BziyZSvAziLzN2FhMjcyYWItNzUzYi00ZTkxLWJmMDctNDYxZWQyMDdlZGUw&hl=en

No problem. I have a folder of bookmarks to free patterns. That's the only one I ever used though, I can't vouch for the others but I can share later if you want more. :)

I have the babyville book and it looks awesome. I'm actually going to use it to make some newborn diapers here soon. You could probably find it cheap on Amazon, though watch JoAnns, sometimes they have great sales online with free shipping so it could be cheap there too. Plus they'd have the other supplies you need like the snap pliers, snaps, fold over elastic (FOE), etc. :)

I was wondering do you have to use plastic snaps with the diapers? and also are there special pliers for plastic snaps or do the one for metal snaps work? I am kind of new to this lol.
