Quoting [Boats&Hoes]:" Well I didn't cloth diaper full time during the newborn stage, so idk how much my opinion matters. I ... [snip!] ... but I really liked the fitteds with snap in soakers. I didn't get to test pockets, and I know I didn't like the AIO."

Hi everyone,

If you're expecting, or you have recently welcomed a new life into the world, the question of whether to use disposable or cloth diapers has likely surfaced.
But from baby's viewpoint, comfort is the bottom line.... :)

Because he "needs money to take his new life". He said I won't get a dime until the state takes it from him.

Thank you for giving us the baby's input. I never thought to ask my son which was the most comfortable for him.

Quoting Naturally Alternative~34w:" What type of diaper do y'all think would be best for a NB around 8lbs? A pocket, a fitted, one with a ... [snip!] ... NB so I dunno... and I'm not sure which type of diaper to make until she can better fit into the OS AIO and AI2 diapers I have."

I did not CD my first two as NB, heck i just started with number two being 27 months old! hahah. But If this baby is anything like my son was as an EBF baby and poops after every feed, I know I will do good using prefolds and flats with covers. I have one AIO NB diaper now, and a few girly pockets that are OS size that will be used when she is well past the NB stage since I have small babies. I think my flats, prefolds, and XS thirsties covers will work great! :) I think with AIOs or pockets you would need ALOT to get through a day with a newborn and that means more money spent and more laundry needing to be done. just my opinion based on my VERY limited experience so far.

Quoting Naturally Alternative~34w:" lol It does. I heard pockets were a PITA 'cause they are too small to stuff. I think fitteds with snap ... [snip!] ... sewing to do a diaper with a water proof outter layer. Or... what's an AI2 again? haha I get confused by the terms sometimes."

the only CDs that fit well on my newb were gdiapers & xs thirsties covers. oh & I also really liked an AIO NB Simplex. it was amazing haha.

Quoting Hy'ska:" <blockquote><b>Quoting [Boats&Hoes]:</b>" I ordered several alvas in a co-op. When ... [snip!] ... I started cloth though! I would be screwed right now trying to afford pull-ups and diapers. It sucks enough buying T pull ups."

Have you considered using flats and covers? With my son I had to start CD due to the fact that we literally had no money to buy another box of sposies. I found old baby blankets, bought flour sack towels at wal mart for about $1/piece, 4 pack of safety pins for $1 and a 4 pack of gerber plastic pants for $6. It was much cheaper than our usual $25/month for sposies. Just something to keep in mind for the future. Plus flats come clean much quicker and easier than other types of diapers.

I have pockets my issue was I didn't have any clean since I didn't realize I had so many broken.... I can't do flats and covers at my daycare but they're cool with pockets, AIO, etc like that.
