Help mamas :(

My 8mo has the WORST rash ever, we switched his formula & hes been pooping 9 times a day roughly for the past week. - ive switched him back to his old formula but it hasnt helped yet.

Theres 2 small spots on his outer cheeks that are weeping, ive been using my CJ's butter with cornstarch ever since his tummy got upset but it hasnt helped.

Ive just popped a cut up dish cloth in his diaper for a liner & smothered him in zinc oxide cream.

Urghhh its breaking my heart!

I dont know what to do - its winter here so nappy free time isnt much of an option except after his bath infront of our small heater.

ETA:
My aunty is a herbalist & made me some calendula oil - olive oil with calendula soaked in it for ages... is that CD safe??

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's cloth safe. I don't know what to say if he can't go diaperless. But maybe you should see a doctor if it's bad.

Yes, that's cloth safe. If he's that bad you need something antiseptic like Bag Balm to help heal it and Calmoseptine as a heavy-duty barrier cream. However, you either need to use disposables or lots of liners or you're going to need to scrub the lining with Dawn dish soap and a toothbrush to get it off.

My 10-month-old went through a spell like that, which started around 8 months due to teething. His poop was basically burning his butt despite changing him within minutes of him going. It started out an irritation rash, then turned into open and oozing sores, then healed a bit and changed into a yeast/fungal rash within a few days, but it cleared up significantly within one day of smearing clotrimazole cream on him at every diaper change. I'm not sure how his butt is doing right now since my mom has had him for the last week while I've been in Italy, but it was looking good when I had left.

Mandy: Hahaha that's awesome. I didn't have a NB stash for DD1 so I'm enjoying building it now. We don't have a ton of money but I have tons of diaper making supplies so I gotta make mine.

Lex: I'm probably going to keep NB fitteds. DD1 has a "newborn" baby doll that can wear the diapers for when the girls get bigger. :) She'll probably enjoy putting diapers on the baby doll while I put some on baby.

Lola: I can see me going crazy with the bee "theme"... I got a bee coming home outfit haha

I'm coming back to cloth. And I hate myself for selling off my whole stash. I'll be buying about 10 cheapie diapers when I get paid Thursday, I just have to find some first. lol

Ahhhh I know! I love the dots! Mine should be here today or tomorrow! :) I'm sooo excited to see how tiny it is! Besides the bg seconds this is the only newborn diaper I'll have. :)

Are CBI like tons better than microfiber? I was just going to go with microfiber because they worked well for ds when we clothed, and leaked straight through with just a bamboo, but now I'm seeing these CBI inserts..

Well CBI have microfiber on the inside. But I really like them, and they don't stink as much as other inserts. For night i like to put a bamboo insert under the CBI. No leaks.

I need a freakin diaper sprayer, or some heavy duty rubber gloves. Dunking and swishing isn't getting the poop off. I hate this part of CD'ing.

Is bamboo ok right against baby's skin? The fitteds I'm making have a snap in insert and I plan on using bamboo soakers but I wasn't sure if I should put maybe a flannel around the bamboo so it doesn't touch her skin or is it just microfiber that's bad straight against the skin?

Bamboo is fine.

Cool deal. I thought so but just wanted to make sure. It's terry so I just gotta make sure the "terry" part's in the inside so the soft part's against her skin.

I need to buy more though... Is there still a split on which is better, bamboo or hemp? The bamboo is hard to find but I wonder if I couldn't find some hemp terry easier
