Ok so I've been looking into options as far as cloth diapering early on. DD was born at 6lbs 13oz so I'm assuming baby #2 will be somewhere around that weight as well give or take so I know most one size diapers will NOT fit him/her.

I don't want to spend a ton of money on newborn diapers & covers and I honestly don't want to fumble around with snappies and folding prefolds in the middle of the night and DH is thinking the same thing.

So our options that I've come up with now are using disposables until LO is big enough to fit the one size diapers we get. Find a one size brand that will fit about 2 weeks after baby is born (we're still going to use disposables until the umbilical cord falls off that's one thing we've 100% decided on), or try out the Alva NB diapers which I hear people tend to have issues with the leg area and leaks.

I know some of you ladies suggested Sunbaby Diapers but I noticed there is no option to buy a single diaper on their site and I honestly can't find their solid colors other than orange and pink. Am I missing something here? Also I see they have a size 1 and a size 2, are these still one size but just made differently? If so do the size 1 diapers fit smaller than most one size diapers?

Wow sorry for all the questions and the long post. I don't want to order a set of them and not know what I'm really getting.

So I have a couple of pockets that like as soon as ds pees it's soaked, skin and everything, well it just happened to a JC trade with first pee. The insert wasn't even wet but the outer material was soaked, is this build up? How do you strip if so?

I really liked Bumgenius AIO NB size as well as Simplex Swddlebee NB. my daughter went down to 7ish lbs & those fit. you can always buy used & sell again. there are also NB Alva. OS pockets didn't fit her until closer to 10 lbs.

sunbaby & alvas are 3ish bucks in co-ops so you have the option to only buy a few there if you want. as for solid colours, they offer more than orange & pink but those are new so those are currently the featured ones... here's an album of all their prints

First time in cloth at 2wk old (I wanted to wait until her stump fell off plus I was lazy haha). I'm so sad though, they seem a bit small. I don't think they will last long. x-x

The hip snaps are on the biggest setting haha. But oh well, when she out grows them DD1 can have them for her newborn size baby dolls. I'll just have to get started on the next size for DD2 soon. Glad I have bins of fabric haha

My scrawny peanut isn't in cloth yet either. She popped out before I finished them, then ended up in the NICU so that took up my sewing time. The good news is she's super tiny still so she won't outgrow them before they are done.
