Right...filling a void in their life.

Oh and you wouldn't think that it was due to hormones because IT ISN'T.

Sam I researched extensively, mostly to prove Kelsey wrong like I love to do, and the only thing I could find that relates hormones, teens and pregnancies was parents mistaking hormonal outbursts by their teens for sadness of the parents new pregnancy.

Kelsey's right, teens ttc to fill a void for something they lack, woman are hormonal through their whole lives, teens ttc is not a normal cycle in life. It's common because of shitty parents and influential peers but not normal.

I THOUGHT when I TTC'd my LO at 19 that it was because I was starting a new life with my husband. Now, I've realized that I TTC'd because I wanted the family I never had. It was a bad decision. I do not regret my daughter, or think she's a mistake, but I recognize that my decision was not a smart one.

I am a damn good mother, and I try my hardest to make my child's life as normal as possible (esp. since her father and I split), but part of being a good mother, and an adult is admitting your faults and bad decisions.

For sure, having Brooke at 18 was a bad decision, for her and for me. If I had waited she could have a mother with better patience and who could spend time with her all the time and not leave her to go to school. I feel bad that I'll have time to enjoy my next baby because Brooke and I didnt get that.

And no... I didn't do it to fill a void. I still regret doing it, because being that young... it wasn't a smart decision mentally or financially. But I did it because I loved my SO.. and wanted a life with him. I felt like I was ready for that jump. Nothing more, nothing less.

Right. The point is. ALL the teens who are TTC, feel exactly that way at the time.

When they get older, they look back, and realize it was a bad idea.

But until TTC as a teen actually results in a child being born, I dont honestly think you can understand what they mean, even in retrospect.

There's no shame in it, the good news is you don't have a kid to regret, everyone considers doing things they would regret.

But you likely were doing it to fill a void, without even realizing it. It might not have been daddy issues like everyone jumps to, but you were missing something in your life and thought it was a baby.

My guess would be she is filling the void that she feels her father left inside of her. She is always complaining that he isn't there for her and they don't have a good relationship. She TTCed as soon as she hit puberty, can't live without a man, and is shacked up with a dude who treats her terribly, is hideous, and owns 700 band tshirts as an adult because she has daddy issues.

It is always so strange to me when people need so much when they don't have a father around. I don't have either parent, my mom was violently abusive toward me and my dad is a junkie. I think I do pretty well.

As soon as I hit puberty? Lmfao.

And he doesn't treat me terribly. The only part you see is the bad side, because I bitch about the bad side. I don't bitch about the good. I don't have daddy issues. I didn't have daddy issues when I was TTC. He and I had a good relationship when that happened. If I were gonna TTC because of daddy issues... I'd be doing it right now. But I'm not.

:!:

And some sibling jealousy issues, as far as parenting is concerned.

You and your dad had such a good relationship that after Charla linked him to one of your TTC threads, he cut you off and stopped talking to you....<<Unless you lied to everyone about that, which wouldn't surprise me at all. Then again if I had a daughter who was TTC with her boyfriend at the age of 19, I'd cut her ass off too.
