I'm just curious... Like how painful I know it's worst the further you are. I can't find anything on google so personal experience this early on here would be great thanks :)... Also is it at all possible to get a surgical one done at 5 weeks or no?

you can get a surgical at 5 weeks. i was a little over 6 weeks when i did the pill and i literally had no pain at all. just a tiny cramp in my back when i first started bleeding. however the bleeding is very heavy so you still have to take it easy the first few days even if you have no pain. but that was my experience...some people say the cramps are horrible. i have also never had period cramps.

if its that early i would suggest the pill, much less invasive and you can be in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

thats just my opinion though

they give you pain meds, the first night after the second pill is the roughest, cramping on top of feeling like you have the flu.
then after that its just like a heavy period.

ive heard people are sore after surgical for a few days, and the procedure can be traumatizing, but if you take the pill and it doesnt work you will have to get surgical anyway

i had the pill abortion done at 5 weeks and it really wasnt all that bad. cramping was horrible but it jus seemed like a super heavy period. my friend did surgical and she said that was aboslutly the worst experience ever!

I've heard its like a miscarriage. I suppose it depends on your body. Close friends have got surgical done, the procedure was emotional but recovery is a breeze. For them, anyway.

when i went for the pill i sat in the room with all the girls who had just had a surgical and they all looked so sad. and the nurse was talking to them like they were babies. i don't know. i can see how it can be easier for some....to just get it over with....and definitely if they sedate you. at the clinic i went to though, they don't sedate you. but for me, the pill was the right choice and very easy.....physically and emotionally.

I went backwards and forwards thinking about whether to have the surgical or the pill.

In the end I decided on the surgical because at least then I knew it would be over and done with, I could just go to sleep and when I woke up it would be all over. I didn

From what I can gather, it differs from state to state in the US as to whether you have to watch videos and see the u/s. It will all be discussed at your appointment with the clinic but if you want to know sooner than that, call them and ask specifically or see if there is any info on their website.

If you are unsure, or worried about making a final decision, or worried about the toll the wait might take on you, I really do suggest seeing a counsellor. No doubt Planned Parenthood or the clinic you

they made me watch a video on surgical even though i was getting the pill. i did however have the choice to look at the ultrasound or not. it was not forced. good luck on whatever choice you make! PM me if you ever want to talk.

is there anything to see really at 4-5 weeks anyway? If I did that I don't think I'd want to anyway....
