Haha no, geography has no bearing on mathematic principles. :P You would be correct in that BEDMAS is used to solve it, but there is a misconception in the way BEDMAS is interpreted by many people apparently.

the answer is 0 because you do addition and subtraction befor multiplication and 0*1= 0
