Dull sharp pain in lower left abdomen? Emily Ann Anita Sobczyk 1 child; Hampshire, Illinois 115 posts

I'm 18 weeks and 3 days:
So this morning I was sleeping on my stomach and as soon as rolled over and got up I noticed that I have a sharp but dull pain in my lower left abdomen. It's only sharp when I touch it or bend the wrong way other than that it is fairly dull but there. Now I have googled it and I came to the conclusion that it can be either that round ligament pain which is usually common on the right side, or a cyst on my left ovary. Has any one had this? Any thoughts? I figured if it doesn't go away by tomorrow, I'll call the doctor.

im 18weeks and 2 days , i too have the same feeling and have done since about 8 weeks ,, i asked my midwife and she said its round ligament pain ,, basically a stretched or pulled muscle ,, and its usually in the morning because u have been in the same position all night ,, all your muscles are stretching in your tummy because your pregnant ,, its just another one of those things that happens when you are pregnant ,, if the pain doesnt go away take a paracetemol and the pain will ease off but dont take a pain killer that has asprin in . Apparently the pain should eventually go during the corse of your pregnancy but in some cases stays thoughout ... happy pregnancy :) xx

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I will definitely take all of your advice on sleeping on my left side, trying to drink more water, and taking tylenol if the discomfort persists. I really appreciate it, as a first time preggo, I hear of these things but don't know if I am feeling or experiencing them. Much appreciated!
