Does anybody know of any preemie growth charts available on the web? Aidan's pedi doesn't do them; She only goes by the regular term growth chart.

I keep worrying myself over his weight & height. )0:

He is 8 months old as of today, & his adjusted age is 6 months. When he went in for his 6 month, he weighed 15lbs, 11 oz & was 25 1/4 inches long. When he was born, he was only 3lbs, 13oz & 17.5 inches long. He doesn't go back to the doctor until his 9 month check up next month.... But I can't stop worrying because of everyone telling me he should be bigger.

I"m sure he's gained some weight & some height but maybe it's because I see him everyday that I just don't notice a difference & it scares me if he were to ever be diagnosed as "failure to thrive" or anything like that.

at 6 months, that is very close to where my son was and he was only 2 weeks early and 7 lb 13 oz. sounds like he is growing extremely well for a preemie!

i think my son was 16 lb 11 oz and 26 in long at his 6 mo checkup.

He should be on the charts for his actual age. Maybe it's different with boys, but still, DD is almost a year old and she is only 14.5 and she has been on the charts for a little while now. She was 3 months early at 1lb 7oz. Honestly don't listen to others, not only are preemies going to go by a different set of rules but each one is going to be different themselves!! As long as he is gaining consistently then you are fine!

To help ease my mind when DD was younger I tracked (and still do) her weight and height everytime it's checked. I use an app called Baby Care I think? Anyways, it shows a graph with her plots and shows the plots of all the different averages like 5%, 25%, 50%, and 90% I believe. When I was worried I would just see how the plots looked and they always were steadily going up! Also they matched where she should be for 3 months behind.

Don't worry about it too much....My LO has always been small. But he is other wise healthy!!! Hell, he will be 3 in October and still wears 18mo shorts and just barely fitting into 2T shirts.
Good things come in small packages!

my oldest weighed 20 lbs at 6 months and the pedi said he was really big and my second weighed 16 and was average they were both born at 39.5 weeks so 15.11 is not bad at all I don't think. One thing that the WIC office does for my twins because they were early is they look at their weight and height for their chronological and adjusted ages.

He weighed a pound less then my DS at his 6 month check up and he just half a inch longer! And thats good to be born at 3 lbs! My LO was 8 lbs!! Dont worry what other people say unless they're doctors and they know what they are talking about and I doubt thats the case
