...and how do they manifest?

Just wondering...

all replies will be greatly appreciated :)

EDIT: On an honest note, I was diagnosed with it as a kid. Might have to accept that my actually having it is a likely case.

Well, a couple things I do know are;

- They (I don't see myself having this yet) have trouble in social situations and being around other people or being social with others. This can definitely be noticeable.

- Some of them don't like to be touched or undergo physical touch from others.

- They often have a fixation on a certain object, topic, and at times a person and seldom turn their focus or choose to discuss about anything else.

All three are highly descriptive of me and some of my attributes, not so much... :s

Within the list of symptoms to be diagnosised you must have a certain # of the symptoms (not all of them) That is why its called a ''spectrum'' disorder. I have a son w/aspergers and a daughter w/pervasive developement disorder(both are considered ASD) but each has different strengths and weakness....both have intense interest in certain things ,socail & sensory issues but manifest them in different ways.
