Mentrual Like Cramps and 35 Weeks Pregnant Nadiyah's Mommy Due September 5 (girl); Grand Rapids, Michigan 18 posts

I been having menstrual like cramps and I and I am only 35 weeks pregnant. I feel them in my hips and back, but they don't go towards my stomach like contractions or braxton hicks. When I Google it, it say that I am dilating, Is this true?? My baby has also dropped already and has been dropped since I was 7 months. Could I be getting close to going into labor. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and hopefully she tells me I am dilating or something. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!:D

Sorry but maybe not. I was told he dropped at my 32 week appt and I have had those cramps since about 30 weeks. I went to my OB last week and wasn't dilated or effaced.

Contractions feel like menstral cramps....sometimes REALLY REALLY bad ones. Also contractions can be in your back...it is called back labor. I had back labor and the pain went into my hips and down my legs as well. If they are frequent or constant, I would go in and get checked out. Also lower back pain can be a sign of a kidney stone or placental abruption, so it is better to be safe than sorry.

Cramping could mean you're dilated, but it could also not mean you're dilated. When I went in for my 36 weeks appointment I was dilated to 2cm and 50% effaced, but every woman is different. No matter what, cramping is definitely normal this late in the game, but it's no indication that labor is near.

THIS too! I forgot about Kidney Stones. Definitely might want to get checked then.

Yea I NEVER had a kidney stone that I knew of until my last pregnancy. Then the damn thing ended up trapping an ecoli infection into my body and I became septic and had to deliver my baby at 28 weeks. Back pain was what made me go into the hospital though. I had no clue I was septic or that I had a fever of 105! It was pretty crazy though, so I doubt OP has to worry about that, but any kidney stone is no fun! lol

Im 35 weeks and have been feeling those cramps for the past couple weeks and when I went into the doc yesterday he checked me and I'm 1 cm, and the baby is head down and low.
But not sure if the cramps has to do with that or not.

Thanks Mommies for your input and feedback. I went in and she didn't check to see if I was dilated, she checks on my 36 week appointment next Thursday. I kind of want to go to ER just to see If I am dilated.:) But the Princess is All the way face down so I am counting down the weeks till she arrives..Hopefully a week or 2 early. When I did tell my OB about the cramps, she says it could be my round ligaments, i really don't know what those could be. I will be sure to keep everyone posted.

Im having a similar problem. I went into my doctor on tuesday and told her i was having tightening in my belly. She told me i was 1 cm dialated and 60%effaced.  Since that appointment ive been having really bad cramping. Like period cramps but times 10. I see my doctor again tomorrow to monitor my bp. Im only 35 weeks 3 days and im worried my baby girl will be here before her october 6th due date. Please help! Should i call and go Into hospital now? My doctors office is closed today.
