Quoting .Colleen.:" If you're referring to WIC, usually an rx from the pedi will be enough to continue with the non contracted formula provider. Be sure they note the "medical necessity""

Up until this month, yep, you're right. They took my doc's rx for her formula. Changes in policy now say no matter what, they will not pay for Similac Sensitive. :x

Yep. So I called her pedi and he said to just introduce it to her and see how she does with it. If it causes any issues, I'm supposed to call him. Though I'm not sure what calling him will do. I may just be out the cost of formula until Feb/March when I take her off of formula.

Quoting .Colleen.:" Wow, just wow. Will it cover any other sensitive formula's? There are a few out there and typically they are pretty comparible on ingrediants."

Gerber Good Start Soothe is what they gave me vouchers for. The doc said the same thing that it should be pretty comparable, so hopefully she can handle it.

And just gradually phase out the old stuff?

Move to TX. Or at least Bell County TX. That's ALL they use is Similac.

Kind of an expensive thing to do for 3 months of formula. But I'll keep it under consideration. Lol.

Yeah, 6 years ago ALL they used was Similac and even back then they stopped providing Similac Neosure for my son after 6 months because they said he didn't need it anymore. :x And then this time around, they've switched to only offering Gerber formula. BUT you could still get the special Similac formulas if your doctor stated medical necessity. Now they're saying medical necessity isn't good enough, so I hope she tolerates the new stuff.
