I put this in D&D bc I know how these things sometimes go, but I'm really only interested in the poll results.

How do you feel about current gun control laws in the United States?

They are fine how they are
They should be more restrictive (but not completely ban all guns)
That they should be less restrictive (but shouldn't be abolished completely)
There should be no guns at all
That there should be no gun control laws at all

I think the only guns that should be allowed are ones for hunting.

I just think we should be able to defend ourselves in our homes. I dont think we should be able to carry guns on us like just going to the store or going out in public, i wouldnt feel safe knowing a crazy person could have a gun on them legally at any time.

I think everyone should be required to pass a background check/drug test and need a permit to own a gun. I believe it is human right to be able to use a gun to protect themselves, not go crazy on a shooting spree.

More restrictions on owning a gun. Multiple tests (drug/criminal record).. be able to pass a test for proper safety and use. Have a locked gun holder so the gun isn't accessible to children or someone who intends to use it for the wrong purpose. OR, hide the gun and ammo in separate spots.

I hate guns. Hate hate hate. But I know people owning them is just a part of life. So I'd like to see the laws more strict.

I'm kind of shocked that Texas doesn't require you to register your guns and you do not need a permit to carry in your car or home, or at least that's what I've heard. All you need to do is be 18 which I think is very odd.

I don't have a problem with guns, but I think you should have to register your guns and have a permit.

i am a hunter and a permit holder to carry a gun and i strongly believe those of us who are responsible and know how to use a gun should be able to own and use them. i am not saying use on people unless it is a life death situation obviously but i do believe in the rights we have to protect ourselves. you can use almost every gun for some sort of hunting too so it just makes it more appealing.

You don't have to register or have a permit in MS either, and you can have a gun in your home, on any property that you own and in your car. You do have to have a permit to carry the gun with you anywhere besides those places though

DH has been teaching me to shoot and all that stuff, and we are about to take lessons together at a local shooting range. I just think its crazy that anyone can just go buy a gun. You don't even have to know how to work it or anything to buy one or to get a conceal and carry permit. I feel like you should have to take a class that teaches you how to load, unload, shoot and clean a gun safely lol

It's just very strange to me, but I guess that's because I'm not from here.

This in the very least. You can be bat shit crazy, but as long as you're 18 you can own a gun with no questions asked. This is what blows my mind...

You don't have to have a permit in AZ and can carrry anywhere that doesn't specifically prohibit guns. We all saw how wonderful that is working for us with Jared Loughner. You can buy AK-47s at any pawn shop.
