I woke up close to 4am with some pretty achy cramps in my stomach....felt like a bad menstrual period about to come on. I woke my husband up, kinda concerned and after about a half hour, fell back asleep and woke back up this morning and they were gone.....what the hell was that and is it normal? I am already 2 cm dialted and have been for a little over a month now, but this was no contractions and just pure cramps like a period. Was not sure what to think.

No, my BH feel like mild contractions and I have been having those for awhile now. Nothing too severe...this was not a contraction,,,this was cramps.

I want to say they are normal and just the expanding getting ready for the big day. I have been having them for awhile and mentioned them to doc and he didnt seemed concerned. Always feel free to call and ask. That's what we are paying them for. Good luck

Did you ever get them and they just stopped? It hurt for awhile and then just stopped.

My contractions felt like god awful period cramps. They would come and go the night I went into labor. By the next morning they were stronger and more frequent. I'd say call L&D or your OB and ask them if you need to come in to be monitored if they start up again.

With my son i only felt them in labor for a couple hours before i actually gave birth. This time actually last weekend i was having some period like cramps but they would only last a few seconds and come and go all daylong. I was sent to L & D and they said i was having contractions but were irregular. They sent me home and said to drink more fluids. No infection either. So you are due a few days before me. If they arent constant and are gone now i wouldnt worry. If they keep coming and going then id call your dr. It could be just normal, maybe from contracting even though you may not be going into labor, or could be a uti , but like i said if they dont keep happening i wouldnt worry. And as long as baby is still moving.

Braxton hicks contraction is what it sounds like. I'm almost 37 weeks and I get them pretty often.
