I just saw you guys were talking about camera upgrades & everything. My good friend wants to buy a DSLR, & she knows I want to upgrade, so she said she'd buy my D5100 & kit lens for $600! So Friday when she gets paid I'm going to be looking for somewhere to order my D7000. I just saw that Ellie also saw that Overstock.com has the D7000 for $699 right now. Would you guys think that's an okay place to order from?

I dont think it's overstock.com though. I just googled and it said overstock electronics, which may be a different company. May want to double check though! I'm debating on keeping my kit lens though

Oh okay I just noticed that too! .. Hmm. I'm going to google overstock electronics & see if I can find any reviews on the site itself.

Ehhh IDK. I'd stick with BH or Adorama really.
I don't trust many other retailers, especially for used/refurbs.

I've never ordered cam equipment from there, but I have ordered furniture.

Shipping took longer then expected..

I'm paranoid about Adorama though. I heard they try to upsell you or send you the wrong things. That was YEARS ago when I bought accessories on ebay though

I got my D7k from Adorama and didn't have any problems or had anyone contact me to upsell.
I've heard those things about BH and other New England retailers as well, but I've ordered things from both places and never had any issues.

Yeah I found some iffy stuff about that site so I think I'm going to get one refurbished from Adorama. You had no issues at all with yours?

^^^ Okay, thank you!

Okay, we decided to sell my d3100 with the 18-55VR, and the 35mm. The d7000 comes with an 18-105 and we'll buy a 50mm. What would you pay for that, guys? I'm gonna make a craigslist post

If it's too good to be true, it probably is. There are a lot of 'camera companies' out there who do a bait and switch and end up calling you up making you pay for stuff that normally comes free. Order from an online seller that you already know of.

Yeah, after looking at the site, totally not going for that. Rather go through B&H

Nope!
I ordered my D3000 Refurbed from BH, no issues, my D7000 from Adorama, no issues. Both came quickly and looked brand new :)

Now if only I could sell my 35...grumble grumble lol :P
I did quotes through both BH and Adorama and they'd only give me like $60 for it  So I'm sticking to craigslist.

I seen that too and was going to get mine from there but I was afraid to buy from a company I don't know about. I've bought stuff from overstock.com but I think this is different and I'm really iffy about companies that try to "trick" people by naming similar to other companies and that's what I feel like they are doing (maybe not that site in particular but a lot of places do)

I was going to get it from Adorama but I got mine from B&H but it was the same prices
