I really like it anyways! The bokeh is gorgeous. What are you shooting with?

I'm excited to see when you finish!! <3 I can't wait to get another newborn. I LOVED it. Even if I was sweating from the heater. lol.

I don't have any posing tutorials, I did do the wrap shots first so he got nice & warm & sleepy. Once he fell asleep, I did all the posed shots.

I love catching up in this thread and love learning bits and pieces here and there to help me get better. My learning is going to be real slow because of the amount of hours that I work. It's...ungodly, to say the least. Anyway. I hope to start posting new pics once I get more balls. I'm just always afraid that I'll suck, lol.

Anyway, thanks again.

Posting pictures and getting feedback is the best way to learn :) whether they're really terrible or amazing it's worth it to get the feedback so you can improve

Tried the reverse lens macro thing on a spider today. Didn't go well at all.. lol. I'm terrified of them! He moved & I screamed. lol. It was one of those super tiny ones that you barely see. I did terrible on focusing & everything but I still thought I'd share.. haha.
ETA; I didn't edit colors or anything yet. I wasn't that concerned with it. lol.

I can't get the lighting of a picture right for the life of me. My fault because the ISO is all kinds of wrong among other things

Can someone help me if I send them the picture?

Yes 4 days is good. Ideally you want 5-10 days old but 4 should be fine. He should be acclimated to his surroundings ok by then.

And to answer your other questions, honestly I like going to their home better. The parents and the baby are more comfortable in that environment. I had some posing guides pinned on pinterest that are good I'm trying to find them for you. If the baby isn't sleeping well when you start, start with wrapped poses and then move from there. Get as many shots from as many angles in one pose before you move the baby so you get a good varriety of pictures even if you only get to do a few poses. Start with basic poses so you make sure you get some good pictures first and then move on to the creative shots.

I have 2 umbrella lights with continuous lights and a speedlite but I can mount my speedlite to my umbrellas and I have an extra stand I can put the speedlite on. I usually just use my speedlite on my camera though but I'd like to get another so I can use them both with the umbrellas if I want/need to

I've been watching videos on photovision. You can watch all their videos for $15/month, and the first month is free. They have things other than newborn, too.

I'm not great, but I think I've improved a lot just in the few days I've been following the thread.
