I wouldn't say that honestly. Newborns are actually a lot of work (from my very limited experience)... I feel like my couple & family sessions were easier for me. However, I like newborns. It's not really HARD, but you have to have a lot of patience & you will sweat through the session, lol.

I can already see a huge improvement in your photos! Edits look good. Her eyes are a little soft to me. I'd sharpen those up a little & it'd be perfect.

You can just do her eyes. What editing program do you use?

Honestly I don't feel that's the truth. Newborns take a TON of patients and time and they can be very difficult. Sometimes you'll have a very easy baby but a lot of them aren't so easy. Their shoots take up to 4hrs. I think you start off anywhere but I don't think NB are something if consider easy

is it just because I've never tried to take serious pictures before, or is 3 months a really hard age to photograph? she is constantly moving!

I agree! Newborns are hard work! And you have to have good Photoshop skills if you want to attempt any of the fancier poses because they are only safe if done as composites. My newborn shoot is also more expensive than the other shoots because of how time intensive it is and how much extra work it is. You need heat, white noise, lots of towels and burp rags not to mention all the props and blankets you need that you probably can't use for any other type of shoot than newborn. Editing newborn skin can be harder and more challenging than for kids or adults as well. You have to make sure you have good lighting or the editing will be even harder. I would never classify newborn photography as the intro into pro photography.

3 months is really difficult, especially for posing. They usually can't sit up yet, & some* don't have great head control.

If you think she moves too much now, just wait for when she's crawling, then walking. It's frustrating! lol. At least right now, you can keep her in one spot :)
