Quoting ~*Icat*~:" a fall could have knocked things off balance, yea. My camera was having two issues that it hasn't had ... [snip!] ... a drop could have broken a part of the camera, or knocked something out of wack. Good thing the one is still under warranty!"

Not much, I applied at a sears and I thought it would be a big deal I brought my portfolio and my letter saying I had gotten into CCA (its Art School in Berkeley) for Fine Art Photography. They didnt really bother looking at those things they where more worried about me passing a math test. Once when I worked at the amusement park a family brought a bucket of chicken wings in as a prop hahaha!

Quoting ~*Icat*~:" that's so crazy! But I guess for the price, its kind of one of those 'you get what you pay for' situations. "

Sears was soo expensive!! if you wanted to buy the disc of images they took they charged 400 and the pictures where all mostly crap they had alot of good deals but anything nice and big was about the same as professional photographers charge.

Quoting Larry!:" So I have a question that basically has been ask a million times before. A girl I know from highschool ... [snip!] ... fee and then have her order prints through me? or just continue with free shoots? I feel so dumb asking these questions "

Your first step should be to research your local market. Take a look at what other photogs in your area are charging. You want to stay within your market. Never low ball and don't over charge, etc. Low balling, IMO, is almost worse then over charging. "Building Portfolio" pricing is okay if you're making that clear that, that is what you are doing. Some photogs debate if while building the portfolio if you should charge or not.

Here are blog posts that completely changed my outlook on pricing/charging:

Rachel Brenke (LawTog) - http://www.thelawtog.com/when-should-i-start-charging/

Photographers Bling -

Best line that woke me up:
"Raise the quality of your product, not drop your prices."

Does Facebook make anyone elses pictures look darker or gritty? I uploaded some pictures and they looked nice, bright and smooth, and then I got them on FB and they went to shit. :x

It's so aggravating because I keep thinking I need to go back and adjust, but when I open it anywhere except Facebook, they look fine.
