Quoting Legendary Bonnie Beaver:" Well, the 1.4 will be superior to the 1.8. I have Canon and have the 1.8 and love it but would love to have the 1.2. But either gives you awesome bokeh. haha"

Dang lol I want the 1.4 so bad but I am HORRIBLE at saving up for things lol and I'm so impatient. My birthday is coming up...maybe I should hint to DH ;)

No problem just remember shade > direct sunlight!

I'm not sure about the Nikon 85mm lenses. I know with Canon's the 1.8 is pretty damn good compared to the L. If you have the money to spend I say go with the 1.4.

I'm hearing that more and more. I wish I could have them both in my hand and shoot the same subject with each one ya know? I feel like then I could do a real comparison. I asked one of the local photographers in my area that's been around a while and she said the 85 1.4 is her go to portrait lens 100% of the time because of the creamy bokeh. I'll probably save up :)

Well I know for a lot of people that have the 1.8 they say the same thing. Both create some amazing bokeh but obviously the 1.4 is going to have a slight advantage. Like I said, if you have the extra money to spend get the 1.4! Although personally I'd spend the money on a different higher end lens where you'd actually see and huge difference in the photo quality over it's cheaper counterpart kwim?

There are a few L lenses I want and none are the 85L because the 1.8 does a damn good job for the price. I'd rather invest in the 35L, 135L, or 50L before I ever got the 85L. But that's just my personal opinion.

I'm not sure what the nikon equivalents of these would be.

What do you guys think about the 70-200mm? I've been saving for the 85mm, but I've been thinking about just saving longer and getting that one. It'll be nice to have a telephoto to shoot initial drill and what not. Is it good for portraiture as well?

I like the 1st pose better, very cute! The 4th one down is pretty dark. What time are you you shooting? Most of your pictures have a yellowish tint, are you calibrated?
