Do any of you ladies use the camera's meter for exposure? I do always. It's so helpful to get the closest to best exposure in Manual.

And, it's worth the little bit extra money to just get the d7000 right? I decided I can't go full frame at all although I'd love to. But, I was looking at the 5100 too because of price but I'd like to have the better one. Just need some convincing still...

You ladies with the d7000, can you post me some recent shots?

I don't know of anyone else who has the D7000 :P But I'll post what I have...I haven't done much with it unfortunately :(

It just takes some time. It seems like sometimes people expect there to be a magic moment, but there rarely is one :) So just focus on one thing at a time and you will be amazed at how fast you change.

I do kind of, though honestly at this point I generally know around what settings I need for a given situation without having to look at it so I'll generally just start where I think I need to be, and double check my camera by eye if I need to adjust.

I use the camera's meter too.

If you're choosing between the 5100 or 7000 as your main camera, get the 7000. The 7000 has more features you will need such as being able to use high sync flash. You can also use all lenses on it. The 5100 is a hobby camera and is missing some of the features you'll want.

Which would be better?

50mm 1.4 OM lens with adapter (to put it on my digital) or a 50mm 2.0 digital lens? Or any other suggestions?

I can't find a 50mm under 2.0 for my Olympus E620 other than the OM lenses.

I'd get the Olympus 2.0 because it's also a macro and I wouldn't want to deal with an adapter. But I have no idea about Olympus cameras.

No one could answer my questions about shooting in raw?

Sorry, I meant to reply to that earlier & totally forgot. But I used to do the same thing (with going through windows photo viewer & deleting what I didn't want.) Does your camera have the option to shoot in RAW & JPEG? I shoot that way. & Then it saves both formats. So Whenever I'm looking through the photos, I have a preview with the JPEG file & then if I don't want it, I just delete both the JPEG & RAW formats of the photo. They show up side by side in the folder so it's pretty easy that way.
