My daughter turned 3 last month, and has been toilet trained for about 5 months. I know she can wipe her own bum, and I know she wipes it herself at day care. But when she's at home, she will demand that I wipe it for her. Sometimes, if she's done a real messy poo, I will help her clean it up, but only after she's had a go at wiping herself. Lately though, every single time she goes to the toilet she will sit there and scream for me to wipe her bum. Even if it's just wees. Is she still too young? Should I be wiping for her? Normally when she screams and demands that I wipe it, I refuse to. I tell her she has to do it herself. This usually results i half hour of her sitting there screaming and carrying on, then her just pulling her pants up and walking off. Then the tantrum starts all over again, when I make her walk back and wipe and flush. Any help, tips ad advice is greatly appreciated!
4.5 and we still have to help her.
Eta: for poo only and she has to try first. She's always wiped her own pee
I still wipe my almost 4 an 5 yr olds butt
Heathen will be 4 in November and sometimes I still do it for her. She can do it, she just needs to do a better job of it. Sometimes she'll have streaks in her undies, but more often than not, she doesn't
My son turned 4 in April and I still wipe his butt I figure once he starts school he will be more independent with it, but for now he refuses to do it himself and will sit on the toilet until I come to the rescue I dont really mind though.
it was about 5.5 before he could do a good enough job where i felt comfortable enough to let him do it alone. before then he would either not do it good or b***h about not wanting to do it. his favorite excuse was his arms were to small and he would hold them up like a t rex:roll:
I still help my almost 6 year old or he'll have skid marks in his boxers. He will do it on his own at school or if I'm not around.
my girls were trianed really early ... totally trained by 2... so i think around 2 1/2 3ish but each child is differnt.... hell they are 11 8 &7 now and sumtimes i still have to remind them lol
my kid has been PT'd for a year and she has to wipe herself for pee, but I still wipe her for poop; she just isn't capable of getting herself clean enough. she is 3, btw.
My girls are 4. They have been PT'd since just before 2yrs. I wipe them for poopies. We are practicing them doing it on their own. They are about to go to their second year of preschool so I think it is time they get it figured out. lol
Ohhh, now I feel bad :( I thought by this age she should be doing it herself. My eldest was wiping herself when she was 3, I guess I just thought that was the norm.
She never has skid marks or anything, so I know she can wipe herself properly. We have wet wipes in the bathroom for her to use too, so that helps clean it. I do help with the messy poops, but for the most part, I know she can do it herself.
