Last night I went to L and D with contractions.. They said I was dehydrated and gave me lots of fluid.. but it didnt stop the contractions so they ran some test and said I was at high risk for preterm labor!!! I GUESS MY QUESTION IS has anyone else had this happen to them and if baby came the baby came early was it ok.. I guess i'm looking for success stories!! I'M SO SCARED FOR MY BABY GIRL!!! She was kicking and all over the place last night so I know she is healthy but it still scares me!!!

I went into preterm at 29 and again at 34 wks.
She was fine. But my doc put me on bedrest from 29wks to 37weeks...I was induced at 37 due to her estimated weight being low and the preterm labor...I had a perfectly healthy 6lb 13oz baby girl

They will monitor you. And most likely give you meds to stop the contractions, put you on bedrest and if it comes down to baby coming early, you will be given steroids to help jump start babys lungs. Unless you can make ir to 34 weeks, at that point baby is most likely going to survive, but need a little help at first. Don't worry, I've seen babies thrive, even as early as 28 weeks! Just pray foe the best.

They have already put me on bed rest and they have me on a med for the contractions! I have just been through so much the last two years with 4 miscarriages and I get very worried over the little things sometimes but this is more than a little thing to me...!!! please keep us in your prayers....

I went into preterm labor at 31 weeks. They stopped my contractions st that point. I've been having issues since then. Im now 37 weeks and deliver in 8 days. Try to listen to the doctor, take it easy and don't be afraid to call. Mind you, I've had contractions pretty steady since 34I weeks, haven't been on any meds to stop them and still pregnant. Right now, I've been contracting every 7-10 minutes for 9 days. So don't let the contractions scare you, just make sure you're keeping your doc up to date on what's going on, and call if you get concerned. :-)I

Thanks so much allissa that makes me feel so much better!!! I can deal with the contractions as long as my baby girl keeps growing and getting stronger... I just want her to have a fighting chance... thanks again..

No problem. I've had a complicated pregnancy. But my son is 7sticking 1/2 lbs and still baking so preterm labor isn't always a huge hindrance. Somteims your body just doesn't like being pregnant, but with a little medical help you can have a healthy full term baby! My doc was surprised I made it 36 weeks, and we did an amnio Monday to see if he was ready to deliver but his lungs weren't quite ready, so against all odds, myth son will make it to 38Monday weeks! As long as I don't go into active labor before lol.best of luck!

I went into preterm labor over and over with my son. I ended up drinking a gallon of water a day or more. It would always stop the contractions. The day before I had him, I stopped over watering and he came out. Keep hydrated is all I know to say.

My first was born 34 weeks. She was 2lbs 15oz 16"... She stopped growing due to high-blood pressure at a 28 week gestation. She is now a healthy and happy 5 year old :) Lots of luck!
