Quoting suzyq463:" *sigh* Tomorrow is the last day of May! My baby isn't gonna make it. I was 40 weeks on Sunday, but today ... [snip!] ... another week, and even if it didn't come then, it would be a matter of just a few days I thought... but THREE MORE WEEKS?! :*("

Now might be a good time to comfort yourself with those gender results lol.
I'm pretty sure she meant add 10 days to your due date. I'm pretty sure going longer than 14 days passed your due date is a medical no-no as far as they're concerned.
I was over it by 39 weeks when I had my RCS, so I can't even imagine how much you must be uncomfortable right now. Not too much longer, hang in there momma.

No, I believe they would let me go longer. I am seeing out-of-hospital midwives who are firmly against any and all induction methods, no matter how "natural". (If there were any red flags indicating a need for induction, they would refer me to an OB instead and I would use the hospital.) She told me yesterday that the longest they've had anyone go is 44 weeks + 1 day.
I did almost open the gender results yesterday evening I was so bummed... but then I would have nothing left to look forward to using for instant gratification if this drags on and on and on! So I wait. :-)

Wow 44 weeks and 1 day? :O
I'd be scared of my placenta aging or baby being still born leaving him or her in there longer than 42. but I've got respect for that you are willing to go all natural. I'm a panzy and by 37 weeks really wanted both of my girls to come. By 39 weeks I was stoked the pregnancy was no longer continuing. Especially with number 2 (born 24 days ago) cuz that pregnancy was rough.
Can they tell you if you're dilated or if baby is head down? I doubt you'll go beyond 14 days over due, that doesn't happen that much.
Just hang in there.

Congrats to all the mommas! :jealous:
Q: If you could have (or did) snack during labor, what would you have wanted? My midwife suggested spoonfuls of honey and nut butters.

Hey ladies! I had my May baby this week! He was born on May 30th (4 days late) and clocked in at 10 pounds 6 ounces and 22 and 3/4 inches!

I'm a pretty happy momma and recovery is going as awesome as it could! Waiting now to be released from the hospital. =)

Just wanted to share!

I'd like to take this oppertunity to let some of the new members know that there is a FB group for us May momma's. It's a lot more active then this thread.
If you are interested, express that interest here and one of us will link you.

Baby has been head down and in a great delivery position for two months, just not dropped. I just want the baby to come before the placenta is all used up so there's something left for me to encapsulate. I'm counting on that to help balance my hormones!

My midwives aren't playing Russian roulette. They are monitoring vitals just like a doc would, and I know if my baby is moving or not just like any other mom, so it's not like I'm gonna sit here a couple weeks and not know anything is wrong. :-) My midwives will transfer me at the first sign of a problem, too. But in the first place they wouldn't take a high-risk patient.

Honestly, I think docs freak moms out way more than they need to. You are not even "post-term" until after 42 weeks, yet docs start inducing at 41 weeks with no complications indicating need for it? Makes no sense to me other than they gotta keep so many balls rolling at once they can't let them take their time.

My mom had one that was 45.5 weeks. I used to tell her SOMEONE musta counted wrong, but now... meh. If the baby bump was measuring on schedule the entire pregnancy, and heartbeat was heard by doctor when expected, maybe it really was true. For me it will be pretty accurate for sure though, because I had two ultrasounds in the first trimester. Statistically, first babies DO come 10 days late, so I am still just hoping by this Wednesday I'll be done.
