is it wrong to want a pregnancy that's from rape? justayounggirl1 Due May 17; Grand Rapids, Michigan 33 posts

it seems like so much of society acts like it's something the pregnancy is unwanted. I feel like maybe something went wrong maybe. But I don't have any negative feelings on being pregnant this way. I didn't want to be pregnant now it was of course unplanned. But I don't see the way she's any less because her sd is a disgrace. More I feel sorry for her that she is put in this situation I mean to a mom that has very little to give. But Iguess is it weird that I feel as maternal to this child as if it were a regular pregnancy?

It's not wrong to want a pregnancy that resulted from a rape, just like it's not wrong to not want one.

I would never want a rape to result in pregnancy.

But if you're glad to be pregnant, more power to you, I guess. I took Plan B as soon as I could and I was very lucky to not have gotten pregnant. I would have gotten an abortion in a heart beat.

of course not, your LO didn't choose to be here just like you didn't choose to be violated. But it happened, and you will bond to your LO because you are her mother! It's natural. I'm sorry that that happened to you though. How far along are you?

I don't think it's wrong, Rape is a very ugly thing and you are trying to make the most positive out of a shitty situation. I could not imagine being a child of rape and being hated by my mother because of the circumstances I was conceived under : ( so sad.

Absolutely not wrong. Every woman is different, where some women may only be able to focus on how the child came to be, others may only focus on that the child came or is coming. Nothing wrong with either of these ways of thinking.

Wow, I'm suprised you already know you are pregnant and having a girl.

If you are happy that you are pregnant, that's never a bad thing. Everyone handles things differently.

I don't think either are wrong. Each person has a right to handle it how they see fit unless they do something truly outrageous

Nope not at all. My best friend had her son that way and he's turning 4 in dec. she loves him unconditionally and doesn't even seem like she thinks about the situation. I'm sure she does but she doesn't love him any less because of it

No it is still your child they aren't the one who raped you. There is nothing wrong with loving your baby no matter how they came to be.

it all depends on how you feel about it. in my opinion It sucks to be raped but keeping the baby is good because its not the babys fault. but it is also your choice if you wish not to keep baby. If i were in that position i would definatley keep that baby still. there is no right or wrong though, its your body and your choice :)
