I don't know if that's true or not. Whats the difference between AR and GERD?

I know. I was just wondering if GERD has anything to do with AR.

they said the rice would help him keep the formula down because its thick which as helped but he has to lay in a upright position for at least an hour after eating.

Ok well, what I was trying to get at, is if they're related, my sons doc actually recommended foods EARLIER rather then waiting til say 8 months like yours did because they said it would help settle the acid in his tummy.

Zantac really worked wonders for my son but I saw a complete difference too when we started foods and all that. You just don't want to start too early either! They wanted me to put cereal in his bottle at like 2 months old and I refused.

It stands for acid reflux my son was on that when he was born he was about 7 months before he could get solids. He had a lot of difficulty with gagging on them ands throwing them up.

Acid reflux is the backing up of stomach acid, while GERD is a disease state of which acid reflux is part.

It has a rice starch in it used as a thickening agent ... Basically a more expensive version of adding a bit if rice cereal to a regular formula.

No problem. :)
