Has anyone gone to the ER/ hospital and got a negative blood test and then end up actually being pregnant a few weeks later?< question to poll
I got a test done at the doctor in the beginning of June and it was negative. In the middle of July I got on antibiotics and have been on them since 3 or 4 days ago. Since about August I have bleed once a month for one day. 2 weeks ago my breasts have gotten more and more sore and KILL right now. I also have a really sore back, feeling really exhausted and having some major stomach pains. I went to the ER on Tuesday night because I was feeling terrible at work and I work in another part of the hospital. They said everything sounded like I was pregnant but my blood test had came back negative, she then told me she has had people come back a few weeks later after a negative blood test and be 2-3 weeks pregnant. I was shocked to hear that. I also got a cat scan and that was fine. I'm just confused and not sure of what to think or do. TIA

Sure, it's possible. Your body doesn't start to produce HCG until implantation. You could be in the very early stages of pregnancy. So early, that the blood test was negative. If you're pregnant, it will eventually become positive.

On Tuesday night did they re-test you?

I didn't know that and thought she was crazy! How far along do you have to be for it to show?

2 weeks pregnant? Wouldn't that be like days after you had sex?

Yeah. I was there one day two years ago and tested negative then tested four days later with a FRER at home and it was positive.

It depends on the person.

OMG! That's just crazy. I have 3 other tests to take at home so I will be taking one each week.

It's not really that crazy. There has to be some point when your body starts producing HCG.

Ya, but 4 days later and then just having a blood test done is to me. I didn't realize that could happen.

there are women out there who continue to take tests throughout their entire pregnancy, the tests come out negative, but yet they are indeed pregnant. they dont find out their pregnant til 5 or 6 months along, sometimes even later than that. its possible, and it all depends on the woman. you have to remember, every pregnancy is different, every woman is different. good luck! :)

also, not every one gets symptoms either. i didnt even find out i was pregnant til i was 8 weeks. i hadnt taken any tests, but i didnt have any symptoms to make me think i could be other than two skipped periods, but i also have a history of ovarian cysts, which have caused me to skip my periods. if it wasnt for my friends hounding me to take a pregnancy test, i probably wouldnt have even found out until i felt the little one move inside me or i started to actually show.
