Quoting Chelsea Dawns Mama:" Purple and grey sounds very pretty!"

And it should definitely help if you look at colors together. And that way its not too dark for you, but it isn't too girly for him.

I was thinking purple and butterflies, but green ANYTHING is a no.

A black nursery would be really depressing. Do a light blue with black furniture. The babies room needs to be bright and cheerful. It doesn't need to be girly colors painted but the theme of the room like the bedding etc should be girly :)

We're either doing Yellow and grey, Totoro or Seattle(where we are from). All can go either way.

What about just doing a silverish grey walls, solid color and white trim. Then all the accents could be pink or purple or whatever you decide. Lol

How about black white and purple? Purple and gray (or brown) sounds cute but not too dark or that'll be depressing too. Your SO is waaayyy too picky lol...no pink, yellow, or green. And my husband paid to decorate the nursey too but I wanted light pink with mickey and minnie stuff and thats what I got. I guess I'm hard headed. Even with names he wanted Paige and we have a Rylee and Dakota. I made a list of my favorite names and made him choose 3 and we went from there. This is cute http://www.homeworkshop.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Kenneth-Brown-Nursery-for-Daughter-Harper.jpg or this http://weedecor.com/category/decorating-girls-rooms/lavender/

I think this is cute; I think any color is okay its a new day and a girl doesnt have to have pink all the time. But I do understand what you mean it is a girl and you think lace, pink, tutus etc. But like I said I think any color is okay, but the accessories make it a girl room. Pillows, wall decor, bedding etc. Like this room having the mini chandler!

I second the Purple and grey idea. Here's a good link for you to get ideas. Maybe seeing some color choices in a real nursery will give him more perspective on it. I would also sit down and let him know that you realize hes disappointed hes not getting the son he wanted but being picky about the color of the walls or the bedding isn't going to make this girl magically become a boy and pink walls will not make her a hooker. http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Nurseries/gallery.esi?page=1
