Me and DD pedi were discussing covertible carseats and rear facing.
First she tells me that the AAP reccomends rear facing until at least age 2.
Then she goes back and says that once her legs get longer its not good for her to be rear facing and to foward face as soon as her legs start hitting the seats....?

My sons legs were touching the seat before he was even 1. That's ridiculous.
You should RF until 3.

Pediatricians aren't carseat experts. I'd go talk to a carseat tech. It is safer to rf even when their legs touch the back of the seat, there has been no documented case of a leg breaking while rf but there has while ff. Kids are just safer rf as long as possible.

:!::!: This! It really poses no risks to the child if their feet touch the seat, they just have to find a comfortable position for their legs. DS is 3 and still RF, his feet have been touching the seat probably since before he was a year.

My step dad says the same bull shit about how you have to FF them when their feet touch the seat. He tried to tell me it was the law  He's an idiot though. It's safer to RF.
