Why not? LOL. Lots of women chop it up and throw it in smoothies raw.

Ugh I think in capsules is the only way I'd be able to stomach it.

i really wish I had kept my sons and at least planted it or something, but I didnt know what I was doing and I was too scared to ask. My OB looked at me like I was an idiot every time I opened my mouth, so I just kept it shut.
My midwives double bag it and put it in either your fridge or freezer :D

My family is already critical of my decision on choosing a midwife, of I told them I plan on consuming my placenta they might die lol. I don't care it's my choice.

I will tell everyone just for the shock factor

The day after I told my mom I was pregnant and planning on a home birth, she called me with all the 'what-ifs'. I just sternly told her that the midwives are not hesitant to tell you that you need to get your ass to the hospital in an emergency, and will accompany you there. If something is making it not safe to have a home birth, they will tell you. Sometimes even weeks before! (strep b, breech baby, etc).
She knows I'm too stubborn to argue with anyway lol so she gave up at that.

It's sad how little people know about the benefits of childbirth outside of a hospital here in the states. Our maternity system is all about profit, rather than safety of the mother and child.

That's great!!

One of the midwives in my last pregnancy flipped out when I told her why I wanted to keep my placenta. She tried to tell me that mammals don't consume their placentas, cats and dogs don't. :? I didn't see her again after that. But with this pregnancy, that freaked me out, since I'm seeing an OB. So Monday when I told him I wanted to keep my placenta, I was SO surprised when he was like, "okay". Haha.
