No, not a child predator a sex offender. You can be a sex offender for flashing an 80 yr old.
It's still disgusting to expose yourself to children.

Yes that is true, but there are ALOT of irresponsible parents out there who let their kids just roam. I would never and I know many parents wouldn't.. but if their a child predator, they'll find a way to snatch a child. I agree there should be more definition to 'sex offender'; the offenses should be listed because no one that pees on the side of a road is a sex offender..and no one who streaks is.. but the sick ones out there need to be known about.

He and his sister were adopted (though I don't know if that contributed to it or not) but I -think- she might have said something about it at school? It's been SOOO many years since it happened. But they had to do like major counseling over it and stuff.

Um yeah I do the same thing. I breastfeed my 2 and a half year old OMG. Those are your own children.
I guess if you're ok with your kids being exposed to naked strangers running around outside that's on you. It's illegal for a reason.

My son sees me naked all the time, too. It is not sexual and it isn't a big deal because we don't make it one. He doesn't even look twice. He literally doesn't care. He's 3 1/2.

I feel there has to be more to the story then that!!! No one is going to register anyone as a sex offender if you barge into a room while someones changing/ showering in their own home....

peeing in public in California is not indecent exposure. Public urination alone is only a municipal code violation, provided the particular municipality has enacted such a code.

Indecent exposure (Penal Code 314) is an offense which requires sex offender registration. Being guilty of a 314 requires more than simply urinating in public.

but who knows

That is so ridiculous I'm literally disgusted.

I've seen pretty much every member of my immediate family naked. I can't imagine needing counseling for that. That's absurd. And putting him on the sex offender list because she walked in on him? Plenty of bathrooms don't even have a lock on the door. wtf.

I live in florida, i've pissed on the side of a highway before on long roadtrips to northern states or wherever, and a trooper passed me and nothing! I guess I should be registered as a sex offender because I've done that a lot over the years..

Yeah but it's back to the same question....where do you draw the line?
Someone could see that persons p***s(I say p***s because it's mostly guys). They can't arrest one guy and not arrest another guy, and would you think it was different if he was waving it around at people? In the eye of the law it's the same thing and for a reason!

I think it's stupid to arrest someone for peeing in public, but there has to be a line somewhere and they have to stand by it.

Quoting .Colleen.:" Are we not talking specifically about child predators in this thread? 80 year old ladies aren't usually ... [snip!] ... that whips his d**k out and pee's and a child happens to be in the area, is completely different. Idk why you can't see that"

I believe the OP is talking about all sex offenders. And I've already said there should be subcategories....
Also, the girl I was responding to about the streaking thing made it sound crazy that someone who streaked was a sex offender. Exposing yourself in public is like basically one of the main things that makes someone a sex offender, so I was explaining to her it wasnt crazy at all that he was labeled sex offender.

I do however think their should be a difference between sex offenders and child molesters.
