Because condoms are 100% effective.

Exactly.

I don't care for CIO methods, but I would not dare try to tell someone how THEY should handle THEIR children. It is arrogant.

Well shame on me too. I hate circumcision for cosmetic reasons. Makes my blood boil. Medical is a different story though.

Although saying that I wouldn't ever tell someone whether or not to get their child circumcised that's their business, and its my business that I wouldn't get it done for my son.

I NEVER said you were mean BECAUSE of your stance. It's a stance that I am coming to support. What you do is ANTAGONIZE, BELITTLE AND DEMEAN women who are JUST as backed(in the opinion arena) by data as you are. So, if you want to sway opinions, you should overwhelm them with the pro's of being intact as well as the dangers of circumcision. I've only ever seen you be snarky and WAY too blunt about YOUR feelings on it.

You are so busy debating YOUR FEELINGS on the subject that the facts that changed my mind are lost on you.

You have a good position, you don't need to make it personal.

Something like this SHOULD be personal. Throwing facts at someone does absolutely nothing. Half the time, nobody reads that shit. But when someone actually puts effort and feeling into what they're saying.... people listen.

You can ignore my posts. I don't care either way. I'm being me and talking how I would any other time. *shrug*

I've seen plenty of anti-circers bully people on BG, calling them baby mutilators, horrible parents, child abusers....not saying I've seen YOU do this, but I have seen others, and it honestly makes me dig my heels more into my beliefs.

Guilt tripping someone based on their parent decisions that they felt was best is never okay in my book.

They shouldn't feel guilty if they're comfortable in their decision. Period. I'd never let anyone make me feel guilty for a parenting decision I thought was best. If I feel at all guilty, it's because I'm not 100% certain of my decision.

You know, that wouldn't be such a bad idea....

Honestly though, that is a good point, but no doctor is going to chop off a girl's breast for that reason.

I agree. Take away infant circ and you will have the same issues as when abortion was illegal. People will preform them themselves and cost babies their lives. I can think of many things parents do that are worse for infants and children than cutting forskin, like second hand smoke and eating processed foods.

Ugh. BG has bounced me out 4 times while responding to this! Grr.

Anyway, while I'm passionate about some topics and will find and/or copy good info, I dont care enough about this one. Suffice it to say that there is lots of info that disagrees with the info you posted.
There is info disputing the inportance of cortidol measurements. also, there si info about pain in fetuses and abortion.
If we had a son the baby would be circd. my husband is Jewish. i prefer circd penises. If he was strongly opposed I'd be fine skipping the procedure but i wouldnt feel like i was sparing him some awful procedure and depriving him of anything later in life.

Quoting kthx.:" Again, those do not alter his body against his will. Not even comparable. "

My point was that there are MANY things that parents decide for their children. You just deal with it. I doubt the overwhelming majority of circd men are pissed about their parents altering their body without their permission. There are probably more men mad at their parents for giving them dumb names or dumb spellings of their name.

I agree. And i also agree that people should have a choice. If i want to circumcise, i should have the choice and right to,and my parenting skills and decisions accepted and not questioned, just like i should be accepting of someone who wants to not circumcise. Once the issue of what i do with my (future ) child's junk gets out of his pants, thats when we have a problem. Thats my take about every personal subject actually.

No one else is in control of someone else's guilt or lack of guilt. If you have nothing to feel guilty about, why would you feel guilty? :?

That's a lame, cop out of an argument supporting routine infant genital mutilation.
