It's old Chinese medicine. :-)
It's to send the chi back into the baby and introduce the element of fire to the baby early on. It's just the practice my midwife uses instead of cutting, sort of to cauterize it. I thought it was cool and my husband loved doing it.

LOL I'm huge on the castor oil now. We told David's grandmother who said "yep yep, it's an amazing thing." then commented on how they do it in Italy all the time - and that's how she induced her natural birth with her twins.

After my water broke I started doing two vitamin C packs a day (to strengthen my amniotic sac), plus Red Raspberry Leaf Tea. I also took some EPO for a few days but didn't bother with it too much.

Oh okay. Well, I'm glad your experience was so positive. I'm going to be moving to Colorado next month & hoping to get in w/ a midwife group. (probably going to MMC first)
