Quoting Lil princess and Bambino:" ya, you know how much that cost? and hurt?"

Yes but it's still something that she can fix if she ever really felt the need to. Also there's the fact that it's a little heart, it's not like she tattooed a giant dragon on the girls face or something.

Babies scream in pain during ear piercings... that hurts too. The 11 year old asked for it. She knew it hurt. And a small outline of a heart probably didn't hurt all that bad.

Quoting Mama to William + 1:" You just said that piercing a child's ears is okay because it's legal. The fact that it's legal to pierce ... [snip!] ... than a tattoo. My reference shows that legality doesn't mean something is right or wrong on it's own. Do you understand?"

it is because its legal, does not mean I agree with it or would do it myself.

she should not have to do that, her mother should have been smart enough to not do that to her.

that is why I don't do that to my child's ears, so stop trying to push that issue on me.

Quoting Lil princess and Bambino:" You think that because I think she deserves to be punished, that I do not think about other things ... [snip!] ... no sense to even bring that up..I am not going to ignore every issue because some people sadly don't get punished."

My point here is that not putting people in jail for doing those things doesn't mean everyone is going to start doing them. Why do you equate punishment with incarceration? As someone with a degree in Criminal Justice and some common sense, I can tell you that putting everyone in jail for everything - like the US is keen on doing - doesn't work.

Stop trying to push this woman in jail... her child is healthy and happy and not abused. Did the woman break the law? Yeah, and she should be punished but not with jail time, at all.

I never said I wanted her in there for a year or years and years. But she needs to be punished and made an example of.

Tattoos don't hurt as bad as people say, otherwise no one would get them!

What's your point? I don't agree with tattooing a minor but it doesn't mean I think it should lead to incarceration.

Yeah and she most likely never will. It's a little heart by her shoulder, I highly doubt she'll ever feel the need to not have it. She'll probably look at it and chuckle at how stupid she was when she was 11. However if her mom gets put in jail over it she'll probably look at it and feel guilty for asking her mom to do something that got her put in jail.
