Quoting Mama to William + 1:" My point here is that not putting people in jail for doing those things doesn't mean everyone is going ... [snip!] ... some common sense, I can tell you that putting everyone in jail for everything - like the US is keen on doing - doesn't work."

I never said I wanted her in there for a year or years and years. But she needs to be punished and made an example of.

Quoting Rumpelstiltskin:" Stop trying to push this woman in jail... her child is healthy and happy and not abused. Did the woman break the law? Yeah, and she should be punished but not with jail time, at all. "

Lol,. I am trying to push her in jail? really? what am I doing to accomplish this? talking about it on BG. yea, if she goes to jail it will totally all be because of this thread..

Quoting Rumpelstiltskin:" It says a small outline of a heart. dumbass. Tattoos don't hurt as bad as people say, otherwise no one would get them!"

yea I said a small outline...DUMB ASS
and you're talking to a person with a shit load of tattoos...
people take pain a lot differently. I have seen grown ass men who can bench 300lbs pass out from the pain.

What's your point? I don't agree with tattooing a minor but it doesn't mean I think it should lead to incarceration.

Yeah and she most likely never will. It's a little heart by her shoulder, I highly doubt she'll ever feel the need to not have it. She'll probably look at it and chuckle at how stupid she was when she was 11. However if her mom gets put in jail over it she'll probably look at it and feel guilty for asking her mom to do something that got her put in jail.

General deterrence does not work and jail time here serves no purpose. She isn't a danger to society and putting her in jail will only hurt her child. The only people who "benefit" from sending everyone to jail who does something illegal is self-righteous ninnies who lack any sort of education in criminal justice but feel vindicated by seeing people be punished.

I can already imagine the grown up child regretting the tattoo and telling her mom how stupid she was for listening to her

Seriously. It's like she thinks we're all saying it was no big and parents should be able to give their five year olds sleeves.

Quoting Lil princess and Bambino:" really, digging a needle into your child's arm, EVEN IF SHE WANTS IT, is not abuse? she could have gotten an infection."

Getting your kids ears pierced can cause an infection.
Giving your kids shots can cause an infection.
Putting your kids in sports/play time/whatever that could cause physical injury can cause an infection.
.... and so on and so on.

Don't bother. This chick is not able to make any connection like that I've discovered.

Can we just talk about the trauma caused to a child when they are removed from their parents, whether they need to be or not? The tattoo was a probably a bad idea, but that doesn't make the mother a bad mother.

DD is 10 and at the moment I wouldn't even if she asked. But her first one will be at 13 if she still wants to. Her choice. Mine was at 13 my brother all family on my dads side.

Its a Canadian flag with our families last name on it. Its kinda a.tradition for us. But if she chose to wait till 18/19/25 whatever. Lol but at 13 if she wants it sure I'll sign it. Lol
