your post was malicious. try doing ACTUAL research and knowing what the f**k you're talking about before you start attempting to educate others.

Then why are you trying to convince people by telling them that pioneer women did it hey? Did you know that in pioneer times 12% of infants died during childbirth and childbirth was the largest killer of women?

I don't know that it'd be medically necessary for them to have a certain birthday.
Now, if there was a medical reason and you had a three day span to choose from, that's different.
But, your post does make it sound like her accusation is correct, not that it really matters.

I don't care why.. picking an induction based on date and not medical need to infant safety.. is a shitty reason.

<blockquote><b>Quoting I can see you:</b>" that's considered medically necessary though. If your labor stalled, and didn't progress, you would be at increased risk of infection."</blockquote>

Oh ok. I didn't know about the infection risk. I went in with contractions 2 min apart and they discovered my water had been leaking for a few days...so they broke it.....the nurses treated me like I was stupid for not knowing it was leaking :/

I chose to be induced because:

1) my mother works over an hour away (could be 2 hours depending on traffic/wrecks/etc). I had to have someone to watch my other kids.

2) My husband was in the army. We werent married with LO#3, so he wouldnt have been able to just take off. He had to ask a SFC who told him to go, but keep it to himself. So that had to be planned. If I called him while he was working to say I was in labor...he would never have been able to take me to the hospital. I would have labored at home.

3) My doctor and husband discussed what it would mean for me to go past my due date. I wanted to have LO#4 with no pitocin. My husband said no because they doctor said I have a higher risk of having a stillborn when I go past my due date. My husband lost his 2nd child because he was stillborn. He said he wasnt giving me the option because he didnt want to risk having another kid die. Not to mention, my doctor said a woman carried 42 weeks and lost her baby that last week just a couple weeks before I had LO#4.

So...yes, I selectively chose which days I wanted my kids born. It was the best decision for me.
