I'm trying to do some research on it, and all I can find are some biased links with little information. I don't think I've ever heard of a child diagnosed with it; and how COULD they diagnose it? I remember there being a long term series of commercials bringing awareness about it... but I still don't understand it. I am asking this because I'm so sickened with the detrimental violence that has been happening among children in the US... it goes unpunished.... It hurts my heart and sickens me....

and so somehow that lead to shaken baby syndrome.

That's the best I have found. In the UK too whenever I hear of a story (especially as my mum is a foster carer I hear of them a lot) it makes me feel sick. How anyone could do that is beyond me.

Now a days, they LITERALLY let parents get off with murder.... so I want to now what to look for when abuse is happening. A discussion with my friend brought this up... I'm so tired of hearing people getting off the hook for MURDER over a helpless child because of stupid laws that have not been updated with scientific discoveries.

Oh wow. Very helpful! You really seem to have a passion and a forte for the medical field. Why don't become an MD?

Oh f**k no I'd never be a doctor. I am toying with the idea of becoming a midwife, but we shall see, maybe when the kids are older

We have been talking about sbs in our natural groups lately. Sometimes vaccines can be the case:

A lot of people who do it start out with lesser abuse (any abuse is still despicable) so if you notice something not right with the way a child is treated that's a good start. Some people just shouldn't be anywhere near children, there are some evil people out there :(

I know a former school mate who was charged with it. He was slow in the head and quick to anger. Idk why the mother even left the child with the guy.

I just looked it up and saw 5 unrelated cases in my area all of 4 month old babies. That is strange.

My bf has a brain injury and you dont know when you're gonna make him upset. He's really relaxed and hardly ever gets mad, but when I get frustrated, he gets frustrated, and I have PPD so it doesnt help cause I'm always getting irritated, or crying.... so to be safe, I dont leave elliott alone with him for long periods of time. His dad shook him when he was a baby and I dont want him doing that to our baby. But he is great with Elliott so I just stay calm around the baby to show him thats how we act around Elliott. And to just walk away if he does get frustrated. but I watch closely. I dont want this happening to my baby

His TBI isnt from sbs though. He was in a car crash at 18 months and went through the back window. and decompressed his skull on the camper they were pulling. I am very very cautious.

Its okay. It doesn't really seem to bother him. He acts normal, maybe a little younger than his actual age, but people wouldn't know unless you told theme. I didnt know till about a month after we started dated. I just thought he was really immature sometimes lol :P
