I got mine done at 7am and was on my way home at 9am. My husband took that day off and the day after. By the third day I was back to pretty much normal, still had some residual gas trapped but other then that I was fine.

I had mine done and was making my own dinner that night. I was in surgery for 8 hours might I add. DH, bless his heart, was young and very immature at the time and pretty much neglected me. By the 3rd day I was doing everything on my own again.

i was in and out of the hospital in about 4 hours total. only took one pain pill that night before i went to sleep and that was it. i was sore the next day, but didn't need anything for the pain. 2-3 days post-op i was back to normal, and felt sooooo much better! it wasn't bad at all only 4 little 1/2" (maybe not even that big?) incisions.

I had mine out a long time ago. I was in middle school still... i had it out in the morning &i walked to the bus stop that afternoon to see my friends lol. Its usually only 3 or 4 small like half inch cuts &i a couple stitches. Dont stress to much. You will be sore for a couple days but its not to bad..atleast from what i remember.. good luck..

I would go ahead and do the surgery ASAP. I wait and wait because I was scared, and I ended up having a 4 day hospital stay and a 2 week recovery before I was able to take care of DD on my own. It was horrible, but that is only because I waited. I ended up in the ER and has to have emergency surgery to take mine out. Not trying to scare you, just trying to encourage you to get it done before it gets bad!

Thank you ladies! I feel a lot better now :D

I haven't really had the chance to research the surgery much...which is probably a good thing. I try not to consult Dr. google too often these days, it always scares the crap out of me :P

I had mine done November 28 2011...I wanna say that i had the surgery that evening...was up walking that night...and was discharged the next day...I didn't think the surgery was all that bad.It took a couple weeks for mine to fully heal.I now have 4 tiny scars.

Oh, another quick question - I don't have the pain all the time...it's an on and off type of thing...is that common with gallbladder issues? Or is that kind of pain usually more consistent?

Mine was on and off for about seven years before I finally had enough attacks in succession to get a doctor to realize it was my gallbladder.
