Ok my baby is due in January, i have a dog and shes a Miniature Chuwuawua (spell check lol) and she has always slept with me. Shes really calm when its time for bed and shes such a cuddler, i treat her like a baby and thats how she is used to it being. Shes so close to my baby already, when we sleep she has to sleep up against my tummy :) then i can feel my son moving around where she is like hes trying to cuddle up to her. She even licks where he is right before she falls asleep. My mom says i need to kick her out of bed and make her sleep on the floor or in a pin :( i dont want to do that at all, shes like my best friend and i know she loves my baby because of how protective and loving she is toward him. Any help would be much appreciated :) Thankss

Personally, i would not have an animal in bed with my brand new baby, the baby could be accidentally smothered alot easier than if it were just you & baby. I understand the dog is your baby, but which is more important to you? Perhaps find the dog a nice bed & try to convince it to sleep on the floor near you?

I wouldn't cosleep a baby with a dog too. Kick pooch out or have baby in his own bed.

I know you love your dog but if you really want to co-sleep with your baby you should make the dog sleep some where else. If the dog loves to cuddle that much it could very well suffocate the baby. You should kick the dog out of the bed well before the baby comes that way it doesn't blame the baby for it and have resentment towards baby.

I never let dogs sleep in my bed as is, just because I hate being covered in their fur 24/7 lol.

you need to start getting your dog used to the fact that she/he will no longer be the baby. I'm not saying kick the dog out of bed, but make her.him sleep at the foot. The poor dog is going to have one hell of an adjustment to do when the baby get's here, so start now.
we have 3 dogs, the little one sleeps next to my dh the two big girls sleep on the floor. Me and daughter co sleep. we have had no trouble with sleeping

i always but her down behind my knee though, shes to small to smother him, and she doesnt move around at all after i lay down she just goes to sleep, and i didnt mean she was my baby but i mean she acts like a baby. she sleeps with my three year old niece when shes comes over and im not home and she doesnt cuddle up to her, its like she knows shes too small. it would break my heart to throw her outta the bed when she shows no harmful habits. and she already knows the baby is coming thats y shes always around me now so shell know she cant sleep with me because the baby will be. it scares me cause i dont want any kind of anger between her and my son. ugh >.< idk what to do.. my mom tried putting her in her own bed but she just wouldnt sleep thats when she started sleepin with me :(

That's where my chihuahua sleeps. Between my legs, under the blanket. In fact, he's laying there right now while I'm cuddles up next to my daughter. I wouldn't kick her out, honestly. My puppy has been my baby for the past 3 years, he wouldn't understand why I wouldn't let him sleep in bed.

He never cuddles up next to or near baby. She is double his weight and is 2 months old, lol. I think she scares him.

I dont co-sleep but my cat sleeps in the crib with my 8.5 month old, he used to sleep in the crib with my now 4 yr old too. But I would be weary about a dog tho, but then again I dont like dogs lol.

Kitty usually jumps in and sleeps at her feet or beside her, he does not go on her or anything, they are like best friends lol. He is 6 yrs old.
